Dear Becky, I thank you for all your recipes that you share. You make it easy and heart warming. I have found myself in a different world since my lovely wife passed. She was a great cook and I benefited greatly. I miss all she did and now I will carry on. We were together from 16 to 66years of age. These are very similar recipes to the food I grew up on and enjoyed. I’m slowly becoming a good cook with your help. I recently made the chicken and biscuit casserole you taught and my grown children loved it with a 3 cheers for dad. Great feeling. Anyway may our Good and Great GOD Bless You. Gerry from small town in New York.

I didn’t have one until I was 40! My mom gave me hers, because she didn’t like it and never used it! After I seasoned it and started using it, I was a convert! Cast iron is great. Since then I’ve acquired a round cast iron pancake griddle, and two small cast iron pans, about sandwich sized. One round and one square. Plus, I have become enamored with Le Cruset cast iron pots. I have 4 of them now, and they work great! And they will go on after I’m gone! Will probably give them to my nephews eventually.

I was going to make one of those other recipes with the gravy, but after thinking about it, you're right. I'd rather have the gravy on the side. And this probably freezes much better than the one with gravy too. I'm Mexican-American and was thinking of adding a combination of regular sausage like you show here with some Mexican chorizo sausage, and then mix some pepper jack cheese and cheddar cheese. Thanks for this simple but seemingly delicious recipe.

Thanks for this great recipe. Made it this morning & it is a keeper-- already transcribed on a recipe card & put in my recipe binder. I make this many times during the year and sometimes I grate up maybe two small potatoes and add them into the egg mixture. I've also added small diced apples to the mixture. Instead of having gravy with this, we have syrup. You can also use day old bread cut into chunks if you don't have any biscuits.

Howdy I've eaten/made tons of this casserole in my life, but I approach it a little differently. I cook the egg, sausage, & cheese mixture until it just starts to set, then I take it out and cover the top with my biscuits and return it to the oven and bake it until the biscuits are GB&D. This method keeps my biscuits from getting soggy. Also, I keep a few tablespoons of that Sausage grease to make the Sawmill gravy with. Why waste good flavor? Just my approach. LOVE the video AND the food. Please keep them coming. Like you, we put God first in our house! God bless: Stoney
