Dear Becky, I thank you for all your recipes that you share. You make it easy and heart warming. I have found myself in a different world since my lovely wife passed. She was a great cook and I benefited greatly. I miss all she did and now I will carry on. We were together from 16 to 66years of age. These are very similar recipes to the food I grew up on and enjoyed. I’m slowly becoming a good cook with your help. I recently made the chicken and biscuit casserole you taught and my grown children loved it with a 3 cheers for dad. Great feeling. Anyway may our Good and Great GOD Bless You. Gerry from small town in New York.

I didn’t have one until I was 40! My mom gave me hers, because she didn’t like it and never used it! After I seasoned it and started using it, I was a convert! Cast iron is great. Since then I’ve acquired a round cast iron pancake griddle, and two small cast iron pans, about sandwich sized. One round and one square. Plus, I have become enamored with Le Cruset cast iron pots. I have 4 of them now, and they work great! And they will go on after I’m gone! Will probably give them to my nephews eventually.

I just recently discovered your channel. It takes me back to my childhood. I have been cooking with my mom in the kitchen since I was 12 years old. This was my time to be close to my mom. I was one of her 18 children. 11 girls and 7 boys . My dad was a minister of the Pentecostal faith. We were taught to grow our food, and preserve it. I love cooking and watching others cook. Thank you for sharing your recipes, and for sharing your faith.

I was going to make one of those other recipes with the gravy, but after thinking about it, you're right. I'd rather have the gravy on the side. And this probably freezes much better than the one with gravy too. I'm Mexican-American and was thinking of adding a combination of regular sausage like you show here with some Mexican chorizo sausage, and then mix some pepper jack cheese and cheddar cheese. Thanks for this simple but seemingly delicious recipe.

Thanks for this great recipe. Made it this morning & it is a keeper-- already transcribed on a recipe card & put in my recipe binder. I used the small amount of sausage drippings, along with about a third of a cup of the cooked sausage to make sausage gravy & spooned it on top of each serving. Very filling and delicious, too.

I make this many times during the year and sometimes I grate up maybe two small potatoes and add them into the egg mixture. I've also added small diced apples to the mixture. Instead of having gravy with this, we have syrup. You can also use day old bread cut into chunks if you don't have any biscuits.

I love this recipe! Thanks for sharing it. I agree with what Bret said that the GRAVY really helped my taste buds!! On a personal note I like hot sausage and hot pepper my brother supplies that he grinds himself. It is HOT so most folks may think my version would be a little spicy for them. I also broke up frozen biscuits, 2 1/2 biscuits in our 10" cast iron pan which was plenty of bread for me. Thanks again for your work here!! God bless you and God bless America!

Howdy I've eaten/made tons of this casserole in my life, but I approach it a little differently. I cook the egg, sausage, & cheese mixture until it just starts to set, then I take it out and cover the top with my biscuits and return it to the oven and bake it until the biscuits are GB&D. This method keeps my biscuits from getting soggy. Also, I keep a few tablespoons of that Sausage grease to make the Sawmill gravy with. Why waste good flavor? Just my approach. LOVE the video AND the food. Please keep them coming. Like you, we put God first in our house! God bless: Stoney

I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your cooking talent and your Christianity! I live alone and make this recipe in muffin pans so I could freeze them and take out one at a time for breakfast. Spray the muffin pans with cooking spray!

Made it tonight. It looks so good. I appreciate you talking about our father the way you do. God bless you and your videos. I put onion and pepper in mine and did a dozen eggs. Forgot to add pepper and salt. I'm sure we can add it to the top. Love you was at of cooking. I use a bigger skillet that's cast iron as well. God bless.
