Plant is a solid fighter, and McCumby elevated himself in defeat. Plant's loses were against generational talents. Caleb was winning 5-4-1 before the 11th round against Canelo, so yes, he did "lose better" than Berlanga. There's so many great fights to be made at Super Middleweight; Plant vs. Berlanga would be extremely entertaining, but any fights against the top talent in the division would be a problem for Plant: Christian Mbilli (the future of the division), Jaime Munguia, the Cubans Osleys Iglesias & William Scull, Diego Pacheco, Vladimir Shiskin, Erik Bazinyan, are ALL GREAT FIGHTS TO BE MADE AGAINST EACH OTHER!!!

Caleb is very versatile inside and outside, and based on how hard it was to get stocked and his 12 with Benavidez, solidly durable. Berlanga is big, but lacks skills and is a bit chinny. Berlanga fights best off of the back foot and jabbing, but thinks he’s a destroyer which would play into Caleb’s hands. Caleb could even stop him stylistically.
