Same thing I said but she just wants to ride the wave off that album… I like a few of her songs but people make a big deal out of her and she’s really not a vocal powerhouse like that. She’s attractive and likable. If you are a true artist then work on classics and not just hits, that’s the same sample Biggie used and people loved it. Also Nielsen sound scan measured plays. She said in a interview in honey magazine in 2002 that irv said he was going to take the rap and heat for the flat vocals and to just ride the wave. The record stirs and labels, made a $2 rebate off of each sale.. investigate. That’s why the album blew up, it wasn’t because she would sing. Remember the whole Aretha Franklin petition. Album been out for 5 months and you’re getting such a a prestigious award? Her fans felt some type of way… but that’s the industry but if people like her like that then oh well.
