When I played we couldn't leave when the head coach left or got fired I had to go through 3 head coaches and 4 position coaches when I was in college. So unless you have been in their shoes you really shouldn't blame them when the person who convinced them to come to their school and play for them up and leaves when they get a better offer somewhere. If I would have had the chance to leave and either follow the coach to his new job or go to a different school and play for another coach that you wanted to play for. Plus now you can get paid to play and get Lamborghinis given to you to play at a certain school. I would have been happy if I got enough to buy food for a week or gas money not cars and 300,000 dollars to go play for Texas. The game has changed so much in the last 10 years I don't blame Saban for leaving. It's not worth giving yourself a stroke to try and keep your team together and recruit new players when you have other teams swarming in like vultures picking apart your team every off season. Thanks Coach Saban for all you did even for the one who didn't appreciate it.

It was a business when I played back in 98 yeah I was a red shirt walk on under Dubose because I broke my leg and lost my scholarship that was offered from Mississippi State and after being at Bama for a year and the uncertainty of a scholarship I transferred down to D2 so I didn't have to sit out a year. These kids don't know how good they have it now. They can make millions before they ever play a single snap. If we were to take a cheeseburger from a coach a 99 cent value meal cheeseburger it would have been a NCAA violation. It's a very very difficult time to be a coach now days. After I was done playing it took me almost 5 years before I would even watch a college game on TV because I had seen and lived the behind the scenes part of being a college athlete.

I mean it is not time to panic, they will still have some talent but like I have said, it isn't going to be a bed of roses. The new coach is coming and there is going to be some players may not like playing for the new staff and then there are some that don't care who the coach is. Amos is likely the former than the latter. It won't be like when Nick Saban was there. Coach Deboer has to build this program his way and unfortunately, he may lose some guys that were Nick Saban guys and due to the portal, they can leave if they don't want to play for him and that may hurt in the long-term. I wouldn't worry just yet. But there will have to be some adjustments that have to be made by the players that do stay there though. But we have to give Deboer a chance to put his own mark on Alabama and get some of his guys in there and get the guys already there to buy into his system.

I'm a Notre Dame fan I know. My whole life as a kid we were winning national championships left and right. We won four national championships in the first 25 years of my life. I won't say we need to push the panic button right now. I believe we need to wait to watch the spring game. Like this past year when Simpson and Milroe did not look good at all and we as Bama fans knew it was going to be rough. Self-fulfilling prophecy for weeks 2 & 3 confirmed that and it became a process that worked out. I don't think you need to panic. This is just the reality of college football now. "This is **insert school name here**" just doesn't carry the weight it used to. When a coach leaves/comes its going to be a pretty hard reset. Hell even an assistant leaves you can see kids flip out and go to other schools.

If you can’t adjust your expectations to coincide with your new reality then yeah, time to panic because the GOAT is gone and whether you like it or not, there isn’t anything about Alabama that’s inherently more special than Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Auburn, Ole Miss, or Texas A&M. The only reason AL was more “special” than the rest of us was because the GOAT was in charge. Without Saban, Alabama is back on an even playing field with the rest of the quality SEC schools You might enjoy some residual success over the next couple years as you use up what’s left of Saban’s roster but after that, expect to fight it out with the rest of us

What good would it do to push the panic button? I suppose people can panic if that's their thing. I liked Amos and Bond and wish they would have stayed but it's no different than if they had been injured. No fan would have panicked and acted like the sky was falling if they got hurt and yet people are panicking because they left. They wouldn't be available in either case. The coaches just have to coach up who they have and maybe fill some holes from the portal if they need to.

It's crazy how for 30 days any college can raid bama for players during classes, have to believe they will put some rules around this in the future.

Seriously! Let them go! There are players who will really want to come to Alabama! It is not like our defense has been outstanding in the couple of years!! Maybe we need change
