I got the opposite form that. Why Skylar wouldn’t talk to Hank is because she was very involved with the money laundering side of things that if she talked and Walt went to prison, she would absolutely go to prison too. Then Marie asserts why Skylar won’t talk to Hank, which I think is very incorrect, to showcase just how much of a lack of insight Marie has.

What I love about this scene is that if you’ve been watching the series the whole time, you know how much Skyler knows and how much Marie doesn’t know - so as Marie is ticking off past events you know how long ago that was and that Skyler knows too. So *your* mind, as you watch, is modeling the horror that both characters are experiencing in every second of the exchange. This is truly great television - some of the best the medium has produced.

Not that good, I mean Walt was dying anyway, and all Marie & Hank wanted was to get Welt in custody . He also paid their medical bills, made jesse revoke the assault charge.. If I were Hank I'd just make a deal with Walt for a lot of money lol, so u can just take profit out of it too. What else are you gonna achieve, Walts days were counted with the lungcancer..But that Walt is the "real good man" after everything he has done is bs. In the end he said it too "I did it for me", he just wanted his life still to have some meaning and excitement for the time he had left, and yes to provide his family with something for when he'll be gone.

Unpopular opinion, but I dislike Marie infinitely more than Skylar. Sure, Skylar is flawed, but she's in a really difficult position knowing that her husband is a drug dealer and that he keeps on coming back, no matter how many times she tries to distance herself from him. Marie, on the other hand, instead if trying to empathize with her sister, she just climbs on top of a high horse and judges everyone around her, despite being a liar and a thief herself.

People really like bashing everyone but Walter in these comments. You wanna defend Walts actions through the context of the show and by the same measure demonize the other characters even though in context their reactions/actions make complete logical sense. This conversation is happening on the SAME BED those murderous Salamanca twins sat while waiting to butcher Walt when he climbed out the shower. Those men wouldn't have hesitated to do the same to Skylar, Walt Jr, and little baby Holly. THAT is the world Walt exposed his entire family to, for no other reason than (by the devils own admission) "because i liked it". I love Walt as a character but he was evil in the end. That's the entire point of Breaking Bad. People have different opinions but the lack of contextual hero worshipping of Walt next to the simultaneous dumping on any of the other characters for not cheering him on as he constructed a meth empire is really wild.

Every person that Walt has killed, he killed to protect him, his family or Jesse (except Mike). There is more behind the character Walter White than him just being an evil mass murderer and drug kingpin. The whole show is about a good person who becomes bad because of a lot of bad decisions, but is still good deep inside (you can clearly see that he cares about his family and Jesse in the end, even though he was very selfish).

But then he found something that that he truly liked and for the first time in his life he was respected and even feared and he liked that. This is the reason he dug himself deeper and deeper into the drug game but there he was forced to do many bad things. I agree that it was wrong of Walt to dig himself deep into the drug world but as I said the whole show is about a good man who makes bad decisions and becomes bad because of that.
