Marie doesn't realize just how right and wrong she is at the exact same time.
@zanebaker3394 Жыл бұрын
That's one thing about this show that never fails to hit hard. Marie honestly ended up being one of my favorite characters. Sure, she was basically the definition of annoying younger sister and its obvious she was always jealous of Skylar because despite having problems with money, she was able to have a family. It never says anything about it in the show, but I think it's very strongly implied that Marie for whatever reason wasn't able to have children. That's why she comes off as a kleptomaniac, which I don't think she really is. She steals stuff because subconsciously she's jealous of the attention that Skylar gets because she's having a baby with a man 10 years her senior and with the cancer diagnosis, it's almost guaranteed he'll never live long enough to be there for the long term. That's also why when Hank is taking his anger and frustration out on her while he's bed-ridden she starts going to all those open houses and coming up with all those different lies to anyone who would listen. Poor thing just wanted to be out of the house and pretend that she had an amazing life, even if it was only for a couple hours. Seeing her break down the way she did at the police station was heartbreaking(although admittedly pretty hilarious because of how her face looked, that shit was pure gold). And of course that's why she tried to take the baby from Skylar. Aside from concern for her well-being. That's the one thing she did throughout the entire show that I absolutely did not like. But IMO she was one of the most real and believable characters in the entire show, and I really hated how it ended for her. It really didn't end well for anybody obviously but I think in terms of suffering, she got it pretty bad. I think Skylar and Jesse were just about tied for first on that one though.

@thecurious926 She's right that Walt's the overall reason this happened. I'm going to play devils advocate and say that this wasn't Walter's fault. Tracing back, the reason the Twins came to New Mexico was because of Tuco's death and when Walter/Jesse injured him, the Twins took this as a sign for revenge. But outside of dealing with Tuco, everything was completely out of their control. Tuco was the one who kidnapped Jesse/Walter, the pair had NOTHING to do with that. Even if they didn't choose to poison him, it was clear as day that if Tuco brought back Walter to Mexico, he was going to kill off Jesse because he was useless. Everything Jesse/Walter did up to this point was to survive. Tuco was the one who underestimated the two and got himself killed and the Twins were too blinded by revenge to care.

The attack happened literally right after he loses his badge/pistol, when the fuck did he have time to get a personal firearm?

Honestly though considering everything that Gus did keeping Hank alive was one of his most merciful acts, unfortunately it also bit him in the ass. If only he didn’t try to kill Walt (thanks to Jesse) then his revenge plant would’ve done smoothly and Hank would never would’ve had a connection with Gale to Gus.

You know, Hank should receive more credit for this. I mean, the guy killed two Salamancas (Tuco and Marco) and left the other one in critical condition (Leonel). He did more damage to the Salamancas than any other character in this universe. Gus, Mike, Jesse killed only one (Lalo, Leonel and Joaquin respectively). Meanwhile, Walter did more damage indirectly, he is responsable for the death of four Salamancas, yet only one was killed personally (Hector with the bomb) while the others were more by accident
@epicfan159811 ай бұрын
Technically Gus did the most damage both directly and indirectly. And his indirectness was more intentional then Walt's. As for direct damage yeah hank did the most.

and the only salamanca who's death gus wasn't responsible for was tuco's

No point accusing Walt; how could he have known Hank would beat up his weed guy and get his gun taken away is suspension.

It's all Hank's fault. Had he never agreed to take Walt to bust Pinkman in the first place, he would never see Pinkman again and start making drugs.

what kind of DEA agent doesn’t own his own gun? this was one of the times when the writers really screwed up. most cops own other firearms outside of their service pistol for exactly these kinds of reasons- you won’t always have your work gun with you.

Tbf she isn't thinking rationally when her husband is in the hospital and may well not make it(which he did but was crippled for a bit and she didn't know that)
@kylefoley54853 ай бұрын
She was right to get upset at them for taking away. Hanks gun bites her justifying his assault charge on Jesse was out of line like she doesn’t even know him personally just based off of his actions.

Blaming the DEA for Hank not having a gun is so hypocritical. It’s like she doesn’t know her husband is a DEA agent and can get killed any time. He’s always in danger any one in law enforcement is always in danger, just don’t act like they were working at a cafe when they get shot.
@epicfan1598Ай бұрын
Tbf she's being irrational here because her husband almost died. Kind of understandable but its also annoying because we know its not their fault. Also cartel hitmen don't typically go after DEA agents because they're aware of the consequences(As seen in the show when the federales raided bolsa's house)

Marie only knew what benefited Marie. If something occurred that she didn't like, she considered it a total affront to her life and everyone had to pay the price for her anger. I hated Marie in the series...and I believe we were supposed to. Kind of like Janice in the Sopranos.

He probably never expected to get suspended. And even less expected to be ambushed by to random cartel men at the exact time he was suspended that is a highly unlikely set of events to happen
