Fantastic, best review for anyone who actually uses their rifles hard. Saved me a ton of money starting off with bipods. Harris clone for zeroing rifles, actual harris for actual use.

Great video. Thank you. I'm not surprised at the Picatinny rails breaking. I always thought the attachment point would be the weakest. Realistically the most likely way that the bipod would break would be from falling into a prone position and bending the legs backwards. If the legs don't bend backwards, the bipod will most likely rip out of the rail. I'll try and avoid diving into concrete 😂

I don't have any of these bipods, or any bipods at all, but from my outside perspective I think the Atlas actually did the best job in your test. I'm guessing that the bipod breaking at the screw might have been intentional in the design. My thinking is this: they would probably rather the screw break than the rifle it's attached to. When the Harris was breaking the rail I thought "I don't want that thing on my gun. I'd rather the Bipod break." Also, was the Atlas bipod damaged in any other way, or do you think that with a new screw it would go back to working just fine? If that's the case then I'd really rather have the Atlas.

That's a good point. It was just a screw replacement to get the atlas back into action.

I think a Bipod just needs to be tough and light to handle heavy daily usage. But also easily repaired if something did break it. The Atlas broke away perfectly, one screw replacement would have it right back in business.

The Harris style has been around as long as it has cause it’s janky but works. The atlas seemed to hold up okay as the rest of it looked fine and would just need a screw to replace the one that sheared.

Very interesting video, I really was looking to see how strong M-Lok is but also learned Harris bipods are the real deal.
@Rico11b
@Rico11b 9 ай бұрын
The Military choose the Harris because it was durable and practically bullet proof, NOT because it was a better bipod. Also no one is testing bipods by smashing them into a road like chopping wood. You put it on a rifle and do the same thing. It won't matter what happens to the bipod because the rifle will be damaged and probably bust the scope wide open beyond use.

Lol funny but realistically. I don’t think anyone would go this hard on their bipod. They are meant for your resting your rifle on surfaces, not for smashing into the pavement.

The atlas didn’t get a fair chance, the atlas is designed to break at the bolt cause it’s easier and cheaper to replace that’s why the had you send it in and the fixed it just one bolt needed to be replaced the night of changed the leg or the foot if it was scratched up. I have a Harris and a atlas both are awesome, my atlas is on a acra mount on my savage 110 elite precision with a Bushnell match pro ed 5-30x56 scope and other accessories it weigh 17.5 pounds and it’s strong as can I need it to be, the fast adjustment is awesome you can slide it up and down the entire forend probably about 16 inches tge legs move out easy and you can twist the rifle in to any angle you want you can cant it about 75 degrees each direction I’d say and swivel it left and right probably about 45 degrees each way and it’s smooth and strong in all positions that what you pay for with the atlas, the Harris is a strong robust bipod especially for the money I have one on my 110 ultralite I agree Harris is great for swivel stud mounts and the stud is usually gonna be your weak point always it’s the main place I’ve seen them break that or the leg slides out and won’t go back in or it jams in and is stuck at the top. I think both a great I like the controls more on the atlas then the magpul but that’s preference the atlas is better for adjustability and hit fast you can do it. That’s where the money goes I paid $279.99 for mine plus $89.99 for the arca mount and it’s worth it all day I love it

This is exactly the kind of durability testing that I do not care about. Doesn’t tell me anything about how these products would hold up in real use. Additionally, the durability of an item isn’t the only important thing, and should be considered in context with weight price and function.

This is exactly the kind of *durability* testing you should be caring about. A full single smack on the floor = continuously resting and shoving it on pavement over time. Rephrase.

@@christopherrobin8134 concrete, steel, rope, shoes, They all do this same test method so no, it is not more complicated than that. The idea is to quickly get test results. So you either use alot of force over a short period of time or one single swoop with some examination of how it held up and how it failed. During this test what held up the first product on the list was screws, these completely sheared off, that's a point of failure worth examining. Later down the line where we see stronger products it shows the first test wasn't unreasonable, because at least one item on this list held up. What you really should be asking is comfort of use, how easy it is to deploy, and how resistant it is to environmental stress like micro material stuck within the pivots or rust. Now obviously I can agree that although this video did examine failure, it is definitely not the full scale testing you probably want.
