It's basically down to selling poor quality build cars at high prices. Cars are no longer built to last and the consumer knows this.

It's more like brainwashing people into going 2-5k over the oil filters life before "most people" check or change their oil n filter... Started with the Northstar, then came OnStar and now most are clueless. Back to the basics and they may last longer without cold start rattle contests in the morning winter blues...

many unsold cars sit on the lot because consumers don't want pay $50,000 or more for cheap plastic cars overloaded with electronics, dozens of computer modules, and sensors. And after warranty expires, consumer are well aware that the cost to repair many of these vehicles is extremely high. Because in many cases, mechanics have to take the entire car apart just to replace a simple inexpensive part.
@nonofyourbiz9921
@nonofyourbiz9921 Ай бұрын
You've only brushed over the real 2 problems. 1) Mechanical problems with most makes and models as the quality has declined as the greed factor has risen, which brings about - 2). The greed factor not only in price, but the overcharging for parts and repairs. Over $100 for a light bulb? and over $200 an hour to install it? Then there's the blown gaskets on the turbo charged engines, blown transmissions, and the major glitch in the transmission computers on the all-wheel cars also causing transmission failures.

It's all about pricing. The automakers got very greedy during Covid and raised prices to the point where consumers can't afford them. This is compounded by the last 3 years of inflation. The answer is get regular pricing down, not rebates. The consumer is smarter than that now and are counting their pennies.

Inflation and corporate greed make regular folks with stagnant salary/wage are not budging because they have more priorities at home. The lowest vehicle price tag, when I got hit by a SUV in May 2024, is about $25k. Most people would just fix their old cars more than putting on vehicle payments. People are struggling to make ends meet. The vehicles put some technologies and components that are not consumer friendly. Namely stop and go engine. Yes, you help mother nature but it hits consumer's pocketbook in fixing the vehicle. The turbo is another one. In short run, the vehicle is okay but in the long run, the vehicle longevity is an issue with turbo enhanced vehicle. The turbo is a poison pill. We get a surge of sugar but as time goes by, the sugar become poison.

@@filippocorti6760That may be true of some cars and suvs with a small turbo and a big engine but not of the cars and suvs with a big turbo and a smaller engine. @filippocorti6760
@filippocorti6760 Ай бұрын
@@herbertcedeno-diaz89 Are you sure about smaller engines with turbos not being built up beyond normally aspirated engines to cope with the increased pressures the turbo puts on the engine? Yes, the turbo charger is another point of failure. It is worse to extend oil change intervals with turbo charged cars. Also, when starting it up, it is necessary to let it idle for a good minute or whatever the manual says. Also, letting idle for a minute after arriving to ones destination before turning off the ignition. I don't know whether a turbo typically burns out due to neglect or other reasons.

CVT engines, engine recalls, engines shut down in the middle of the road, fires, drivetrains, cylinder deactivation technology leaving people stranded. 100 years of car building and they are getting worse every year. Toyota had some good comments, but one car company. I'm afraid to spend $35,000 much less $100,000 just to wait for the recall notices. Very serious issues for buyers to wade through.

That is the reason why Toyota models are saleable here in our country, Philippines, because of the availability of spare parts . 95% of stores here have Toyota spare parts. Nissan rouge is having serious issues, so even if you got a deal, and you will still have to fight for that deal, you're taking a 25 k risk. It's not just the new models either, there was a class action lawsuit for models from 2014/2018. I wouldn't buy one at all. The other cars that you mentioned also have some serious reliability issues. If you're in the market to buy a car, please do your due diligence and see what the recalls are and see if it can even be fixed. Ford released the fiesta knowing it had serious issues. 2011/2016. There have been many lawsuits against Ford for this and to boot there is no fix for this fundamentally flawed clutch design. Getting a deal on a shiny piece of junk is no deal at all my friends.
