@@AbitofEverything4U Thanks for the link to the video but I was talking about the time travel we see in (Run Aways, Agents of Shield, Deadpool 2, X-Men:Days of Future Past) scenes these are part of the multiverse and they work different than what we see in Endgame.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Ah! I gotcha now. Okay, so I didn't do a single video on that, but it might be fun to try. What I did, however, is I discussed time travel in the video for Runaways (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmSXm6R8nJacr7s) discussed time travel in the video for Agents of SHIELD (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnLKpZh6rt1pg7c) and discussed time travel in the video for the X-verse (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJ-uYXmIrZ1giJo) and in each video I tried to reconcile the different types of time travel. Personally, I think Marvel will either have to say all previous versions of time travel were actually branching, or will have to say that different universes have different rules. But I do like your idea of covering them all in one vid. I'll add that to the list for future ideas, as I think it would be pretty cool.

It's not as large there, with only the ending portion of the latter and the beginning portion of the former occurring concurrently. When Fury talked to Stark on day 2, there were already "...things in the southwest region" going on. I always assumed that was the thing with Mjolnir and Thor, but I could be wrong. Was Fury referring to the things with Banner or Thor? Just because it was night time on Asgard doesn't mean it was night time on Earth.
@AbitofEverything4U2 ай бұрын
I agree...that line sure seemed like it meant Thor's hammer had arrived in New Mexico at that point. But the timeline book confirmed that Tony's meeting with Stark and Romanov was prior to Thor being banished. However, the clue is likely regarding the conversation on day 3 that Fury has in the tie-in comic regarding the electromagnetic storms intensifying. So it seems they were already starting to happen on Day 2 and perhaps that's what Fury was referring to? He compartmentalized it on Day 2, but it was clearly still bugging him while he was talking to Stark later that day. That's my best guess, since both the tie-in comic and the timeline book show that Thor didn't arrive until Day 3.
@Volvagia0slayer Жыл бұрын
I think you alluded to the fact that you were going to bring it up, but I wish you had ultimately talked in more detail about how What If...? says that Iron Man's donut scene happens on a Monday, Thor trying to get his hammer back happens on Tuesday, and the battle at Culver University happens on Wednesday, despite this timeline listing those events as Day 2, Day 4, and Day 5. Makes me wonder what part of the timeline What If...? was trying to retcon (maybe Thor ended up on Earth on Night 2 instead of Night 3 because of Asgard time zones? And thus everything after that point happens a day earlier than originally believed?) or if it was just a mistake on What If...?'s part, and therefore we have to just theorize that the timeline of that universe played out differently than the main universe in addition to the murders.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was so surprised by how off What If was. Considering that the divergent event seemed to be Hope joining SHIELD and dying, it's strange that her death somehow affected the timing of FBW. I considered going into more detail on it, but since it seems to have no good explanation, I just decided to be sure to let people know not to count on that episode for telling us when things happened. I really did like the What If series in general, but it seemed the writing wasn't as crisp as it could have been in several episodes. Having the Quantum Realm be a point of divergence in the zombie episode really messes with the idea of one QR for then entire universe, for example. Ugh. Oh well, I guess we just take what we got and enjoy it for what it is. Sigh.

For me the best order for phase one is: Iron Man - Captain America - Hulk - Consultant - Iron Man 2 - Agent Carter - A Funny Thing... - Thor - Fury's Big Week (optional) - Avengers - Item 47 IM1 is the best movie to start the MCU because it's iconic as the first movie, also Captain America leads directly into Hulk because of the Serum, even tho the present day scenes happen after Thor (skip the trailer at the end of Captain America btw) Then Hulk is referenced in IM2 and IM2 leads directly to the One-Shot, which leads to Thor (before you have a brief flashback to Agent Carter and Howard founding SHIELD tho) Also Thor leads into Avengers better than Captain America imo, because of Loki in the post credits Its not perfect, The Consultant comes before IM2 and Agent Carter kinda breaks the flow a bit (i like it as an expansion for the reveal that Howard founded SHIELD), but otherwise i like it

Phase 2 it's simple always skipping iron man 3 and the dark world (ragnarök and endgame did a great job explaining the important plot points of thor 2 without even having to watch it again) . After avengers 1 guardians works better as it's time to explore deep space, so guardians part 1 and part 2back to back, then go back to earth with the winter soldier, age of ultron and ending with ant man 1. Phase 3 it's straight foward, the starting point is civil war, moving into black widow, black panther 1 (it's optional but you should read the tie in comic showing t challa being an active hero during iron man 1 time), homecoming,doctor strange, ragnarök, infinity war (here it's optional to read the captain marvel tie comic it does a good job explaining deeper what nick fury feels about the avengers) ant man and wasp (i know the film is set a few weeks before the snap but really works better between movies) endgame and far from home as the real end (the back in black joke, and the returning of the same engineer from iron man 1 tell us this film is about coming back in circle).

I just watched 'What if earth lost its mightiest heroes." and I was like ooooooooh shit now I know why you are always going on about Fury's big week.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
LOL! Yup, that's what it's all about. It's really wild that they managed to retcon those movies into a single week and made them fit together so well. It did mess up the overall timeline for Phase 1, but those movies all fit in so well that I do think it was worth it in the end.

What about captain america
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
I had the same question going into the research for this video. If you look at the timeline that Marvel provided when Avengers came out (it's shown about 3 minutes into the video) they list Captain America being found after Fury's Big Week. Also, a separate tie-in comic places it several months to a year later. Would have been cool if it was party of Fury's Big Week, but it seems they made it happen later in the timeline for some reason. Anyway, great question!
