Finally! I've been waiting for someone to make a product like the Streamer X for a while now. It's such a simple idea that companies have been sleeping on. Rode is killin' it!

The Streamer X looks like a potentially useful tool for combining XLR audio with HDMI video. I hope the the HDMI passthrough will also carry audio signal from the XLR input.
@famousarmystudio Жыл бұрын
The main reason XLR will remain the standard is power. USB does not carry enough power to run higher end analog electronics at a level that remains high end. Yes USB mics have become better, but until higher power can be pushed through USB, then things will remain the same. Also you have USB mics handling not only the mic electronics, you have an AD converter pulling more power inside the mic. More power equals better sounding mics, mic preamps, and AD/DA converters.

Hello everyone, I have question. I'm trying to stream in a music studio where there are multiple people sitting around the room, its only small baring in mind. Right now we are using a Neumann condenser mic however it struggles to pick up people far away and we don't want to increase the gain as the music from the speakers will feedback. Is getting multiple dynamic mics a good option. Or maybe one dynamic near the speakers and another condenser at the back of the room? Or will clip mics be something i have to look into? I've been watching Kenny beats the cave and I'm just wondering how they get it.

One thing as a company to build what people need. It's another to build a product that people didn't know they actually needed, and suddenly want. Example 1: being the car vs a faster horse. Example 2: USB Microphones for Aiden.

I have the wireless Go one and bought the Go2 last week but I returned it within hours. It was not worth the upgrade for me. I wanted the onboard recording capability but it was very disappointing as it was impossible to tell on the transmitter if I was actually recording.

Rode takes advantage and people are willing to waste their momey. But don't get me wrong...if you wanna buy overpriced stuff gone gor it. Most people buying rodecaster are amatut wannabe Podcasters incoherently mumbling over eachother. They be better off getting a cheap usb mic for their star wars break downs.

@knowyourjoe8826 Жыл бұрын
My prediction is that if R0DE hits the right price point on the Streamer X and the R0DECaster Duo the gap will be so wide the competition will need something akin to a Millennium Falcon to begin to close it. That is unless they decide to to provide a HyperDrive update to their offerings... LOL Personally I would like to see R0DE to provide a sound/effect library that is downloadable their products that is assessable through their software.

Dude! You know your stuff, thanks for the break down. I wish the duo was a quad! Having multiple guests is out of the question unless of course we get the USB Pod Mic. Same for the X. Interesting indeed, but to be clear: Rode is _trying_ to be the Australian version of Apple. They also have been developing the bad habit of rushing things out before they're actually ready for prime time. Case in Point: My RCP II is still wonky (my third), as are thousands of others. Promises of firmware upgrades get made, then make that sound Douglas Adams said he enjoyed as deadlines went whooshing by. Don't get me wrong: I really appreciate Rode, and have championed and recommended their products over and over (the Podmic is pretty much a perfect product in my mind, right when the world needed it) but you often pay a price for being on the bleeding edge...
@DarkCornerStudios Жыл бұрын
Yeah...it's the price that the company...and early adopters share. Really difficult to be perfect when being the first to do everything To be honest though...even with bugs...who else you gonna recommend?

@@DarkCornerStudios Agreed. First to market is still being first, and setting the bar for everyone: both competitors and themselves. "Move fast & break @#$%" still moves the needle.

I really like Rode's products, but their software lets them down. With Rode reporter, using all rode products (rode AI micro, rode lav mic), if I wanted to select on option (for example, high pass filter) I couldn't click on it unless I pushed a non-corresponding part of the screen (generally up and to the right). This problem persisted across android and iOS devices when I tested it. In addition, it would often fail to save my recording and it was difficult to get the recordings off the device as they are hidden and if the app was playing up there was no way to access them directly. The ratings on both google play and apple store attest to the issues people are having. With Rode Unify, initially when I tried to download the software from their website I kept getting redirected to an unrelated file. Eventually, after over 10 attempts I was able to download the correct file. Lastly, having used the Rode Unify software I can say that it has some quirks. I have used a few different products that can route audio (go xlr mini and zen go) both of which were easier to setup. Also, once I got things setup they did work correctly apart from an odd bug where discord was coming through super quiet even when set to max volume in both the discord app and Rode Unify. Very puzzling stuff. As an early adopter of the Rode Unify software (I subscribed for a month, the first month it came out) they even sent me a free XCM-50 as it went from subscription to free due to issues people were having. Hopefully with a bit more time they will iron out their software issues then I'll be with you 100%.

You forgot to say that all updates and carrying case are taken from DJI Mic DNA. It's not bad when Rode gets his inspiration from DJI, but you make it sound like Rode just "invented" 2 new important updates and a carrying case. No, it's not like that.
