I truly believe that UDFA Amari Garnier can possibly be the best Linebacker on our team next to Robert Spillen . We need to extend Spillen ASAP he’s a freaking beast!

Burney has speed and is a bit of a thumper. I think he had a pick last year too. He didn't play much but he looked good as a limited playing time rookie. Tommy E could get some solid playing time in run sets. I really like Gainer out of Florida too. He's fast he's strong as hell, he's a beast. Maybe too aggressive, but I appreciate that.

Diablo is hella juiced. But the rook Tommy E gonna come in 4 his job. Masterson has been ascending while Spillane has BEEN ELITE! Since last season, the LB core has been our strength.

I like Masterson. Dude plays downhill and closes on run plays super fast. He hits the gaps and comes down hill like a missile.

We had a #1 defense within the time AP took over and the end of the season. AP is a linebacker. The LB unit took off when AP took over. The LB unit is going to be a point of pride this year.

Deablo is only in his 4th year playing the position and he was coveted as a Will in C3 defense. This wasn’t the system for him. But credit to him still playing decent and being a starter. This is a big year but to me Luke should be the starter slightly but I like Deablo

I don't know man, remember Eddie Anderson? He was built like an LB. Diablo. Having a guy who is well versed at the safety position but we built into a LB. He's got speed and coverage ability. To have a Safety in a linebacker spot is one thing but to have a safety built like linebacker with speed and coverage abilities in his natural position could be scary. I don't know, I'm just imagining something with deadly potential. You might be right, but so might I.

We just need the LB's to be solid. I don't think we keep 5, we only play 2. I think the 4th spot comes down to Burney and Masterson. It's possible if both those guys outplay Diablo maybe he gets traded for a late pick. I like the group, I don't hate any of them. For years I couldn't stand our linebackers. I think the addition Wilkens will improve the linebackers, we have lacked an interior presence for a long time, which made our linebackers who were not very good to begin with look really bad.

Alot of these guys will get more snaps and overall play time with the new kickoff rules also, so i feel like even 2nd and 3rd string linebacker s or even dbs will get more meaningful snaps due to that

I’d love to pick up a 2nd or3rd round backer next year. Picking in the 5th and 6th you don’t get the Athleticism as you do with earlier picks. They are all from 2021. The leatherwood year. He was the only bad pick.

Looking at Diablo’s career stats. Barring the injury history that you mentions, he seems to have progressed from year to year. I understand that the best ability is availability, but assuming he stays healthy, I would not be surprised if he makes a leap in year 4. Maybe having Wilkins in the interior eating up space helps him a bit. Regardless, we’re looking better at LB than we have in years, and the future looks promising with AP in charge. RNFL!

Masterson ain’t shown shit. Hes been here a couple years and can’t crack the starting lineup. Hes useless. Spillane had a good year but he’s not elite and getting long in the tooth. We need to flip the LB room. I’m hoping Eichenburgh can step up. Bernie isn’t it either. Lacks speed which is what we need. Not impressed…
