As a Jets fan since 1972, I still don’t know why the owner fired Saleh. I expected him to be fired at year end. Clearly they did not want Hackett . They did not go outside the organization. I don’t see my team winning 7 games this year now. Hackett is not calling the plays now so it makes me think Rodgers did not ask the owner to fired Saleh.

It was accountability, Saleh wouldn't and did not bring it. From being the most penalized team his entire tenure, players regressing and so on. It now seems there is an internal belief and some early signs (basically firing Hackett) that Ulbrich will bring that accountability. From ownership's perspective the team was not meeting the high standard that was set out for the team at the start of the season and they are doing this early in hopes of a course correction.

I agree that this was a panic move, but going with Jeff Ulbrich over Nathaniel Hackett was the right move IMO. I strongly disagree about Hackett's previous head coaching experience giving him priority over Ulbrich. Let's not forget how awful Hackett was as the Broncos' head coach and that he's a mid offensive coordinator at best. You made plenty of Dumb Decision videos about him for a reason. Someone had to pull double duty regardless.

Saleh was bad. But in my opinion; the 5 worst coaches the Jets ever had were: 1. Lou Holtz 2. Rich Kotite 3. Charley Winner 4. Adam Gase 5. Bruce Coslett

When Aaron Rodgers shoved Robert Saleh away when Saleh tried to hug him during that one game, I thought it might only be a matter of time before he was fired. Also, the coach they made interim can't be any worse then when Jeff Saturday coached the Colts.
