Why would you have her focus on these mundane things like explosions in space and magnetic boots holding Shepard to the floor? The WHOLE underlying concept behind Mass Effect is Element Zero and it's non-Newtonian properties, how it allows for FTL travel and momentum dampening and mass-free relay tunnels. Why not have her talk about the that? It's common knowledge that fire can't burn in space and that artifical gravity is not really a thing, don't need a rocket scientists to tell you that

The Codex explains alot of the tech in the game. I wish the footage would have focused on some of the techy conversation Shepherd has with different Npc's in the game like Tali, or the Engine area crew. She would have had a lot of material to go over.

0:45 A Mass Effect is the ability to alter the mass of a volume of space time through the use of Element Zero(Eezo) Eezo is created when solid matter such as a planet or asteroid is exposed to the energy of a star going supernova. The substance is rare and commonly found in the asteroid belts surrounding black holes. Making it also expensive to mine. What makes Eezo so special is that it radiates dark energy and when it is exposed to an electric current, this energy can be used to create a mass effect field. A negative current increases mass and a positive current decrease mass. An additional function of a mass effect field is the altering of the speed of light. Light moves faster in a mass effect field than through speed, allowing for FTL travel. 1:22 Gravity plates are a thing in Mass Effect. They are powered by the ship's Element Zero Drive Core and generate a mass increasing field in the floor. Such tech however is quite power intensive. During combat, a ship's a-grav is turned off as power is redirected to more important systems. Capital ships(Cruisers, Battleships, etc) have their decks oriented perpendicular to the vector of thrust with the upper deck towards the bow and the lower decks towards the aft. This takes a lot of the stress off the drive core. Only ships capable of landing such as Frigates, have their decks parallel as it makes ship operations easier when planetside. 1:36 That's a Mass Relay(an interstellar jump gate). The core in the centre is a 5 km diameter Element Zero Drive. The largest in the known galaxy. Mass Relays create corridors between each other that have virtually zero mass and no light speed limit. Allowing instantaneous transit across thousands of lightyears. As an extra note. A Mass Relay is so powerful that if one was destroyed, the energy released would be a supernova-like event, taking the entire star system it's in with it 1:48 The Stealth System referred to here is the IES Stealth System. That stands for Internal Emission Sink and has 2 parts. The first is the advanced lithium heat sink system built into the ship's hull that completely hides it's heat signature. The other part is the Tantalus Drive Core. Standard drive cores are responsible for all the mass effect related systems on a ship(FTL, gravity, shields, ets). The Tantalus has one additional feature that allows it to create mass concentration ahead of the ship, allowing it to fly without the use of heat emitting thrusters. This one feature made this Light Frigate cost the same as a Heavy Cruiser. 4:10 Combat Hardsuits have magnetic boots for Zero-G environments. You can tell by the change in walking speed that this deck has lost a-grav and Shepherd was using Mag boots 5:30 Combat Hardsuits are made of high-density ablative ceramic. Not metal 6:19 It's never confirmed whether Shepherd was actually dead. When she was resurrected, they first attempted tissue regeneration. When that failed, they turned to bio-synthetic fusion. The entire process took 2 years and cost billions

We always assumed: 1. Drive core riding on Eezo had enough pull to secure gravity. Or/and 2. Magnetic boots with space suits.. Hence floating chairs, but Shep can walk to cockpit. Ps. How do you like the line that Sir Isaak Newton is the most dangerous SOB in space? Or did you miss it?

If I remember correctly, at that scene where normandy is torn apart, Shepard was activating magnetic boots, and that was why he/she was walking that way.

Awesome video im a huge SciFi fan since I grew up with Star Trek, eben if i don't undeesty all science and most likely only long outdated data i love science too. What since did was delivering me hope so manu times. Mass Effect is a very strong narrative game and in the codex there are even voiced Dialogs explaining the in-univers science. Honestly i would love to see her and maybe some co workes playing that series. It was a blast, not the Normandy that gets me every time, but her approach, her energy. Also love her outfit. Thank you for taking your time to approach one of my favorite games ever and to give us your insight, it was entertaining and good to know a bit more about that details, i smiled throughout the video. Thanks for that good vibe energy.

Maybe someone can elaborate I've always had trouble with the Goldilocks theory in order for life to be on other planets because as far as I understand, that's based on the assumption that any living being is a carbon based lifeform that needs oxygen/water to survive, but what if they survive on another element? Just a thought...

I get what she is saying it's not real but... IT'S A GAME! it's not supposed to be real, that's what science fiction means. secondly it's set many years in the future. at the start of each game, it states a past date (cant remember the exact date) that's a long way in the future of the present. need to add, it's an awesome game i love it. sorry don't mind me. I am a professional game and movie critic.

I mean the obvious games are games and reality is reality but the point being is that game takes in space and some people think if this happened in real life like a space ship catching on fire they would think it would have expulsions after the fact but like she said it would need air its mainly to give another point of view.
