Fallout New Vegas is one of my all time favourite games, and I'm so excited to present the game like this. I've planned my character build in depth with the goal of pushing the power of my build increasingly to its limit as time progresses. The plan is to complete all DLC, and pick up increasingly powerful items and perks that will help us throughout the game.

5:48 If cut content is to be believed, the Sniper's Nest belonged to two Ranger snipers who played poker there and then were ambushed by legionnaires. Boone most likely used his hunting rifle that day

Plus, the note in the NCR base that points to the location of the nest says that it "has been set up near Cottonwood as requested", though Boone had no time to ask a favor from Polatli or someone else that is connected to him, he was following the Legionnaires and most probably didn't even know where they were going. The probable reply could've been "Well, why the Gobi rifle is there then? The note says there will be "no weaponry. For sure Boone found the nest, sniped the wife, and locked the rifle there", but I will remind you that 1st recon is known for using only hunting rifles. The sole exception is Corporal Sterling, using La Longue Carabine, and he had to get permission to use it from Gorobets.
