7:07 For those wondering; VE = Volumetric Efficiency (a measure of an engine's capability in % to fully fill it's cylinders with ambient air at any given RPM for a given throttle position). If that's still confusing, then think of the words AIR DENSITY. It's a comparison of how much total air mass is entering the cylinders on the intake stroke vs how much air mass would theoretically enter if the cylinder was set to ambient conditions when the intake valve closes. That's where the percent portion comes in. If you still need further clarification, feel free to leave a reply.
@super16g1233 жыл бұрын
You can really give that bike longer highway legs, if you change the belt and trans pulley out to the euro spec 1200 units. Really lowers the rpms on the highway. I also changed the primary chain and sprocket, when my stator went out, to the 1200 units. That lowers the rpms even more. It depends on the year whether or not there is a difference in the 883 vs 1200 primary gearing. Some years were identical. I also swapped out the 3.3 for the 4.5 gallon tank and with that set up, I could get about 200 miles out of a tank full. I had more range than most of the touring bikes I ride with lol. I really miss that bike.

Better check if you got the wires for the fuel injectors right. There's a front and a rear, & when in autotune if they're reversed- the bike will run shiddy & stall. Found this out the hard way, guy that did the 1200 kit on my old sporty fugged up- it was essentially running like a diesel & would stall just like your bike. @@parkersgarage4216 Dude, don't think about it just do it because it isn't a matter of if it will let go, it is a matter of when it will let go and trust that you don't want that. It could cause very little damage and leave you stranded on the side of the road with the bike not moving, or you will end up stranded on the side of the road with a fuckload of damage done inside the primary, and it can get bad. That is literally the only thing on a Sportster that mechanically should be swapped at the first chance. Some guys don't have them let go until 20-40k miles, but I also have heard of it happening as early as 5000 miles. The benefit of spending $200 and not having to worry about it, plus having an all around better clutch is worth it. I hope I scared you enough to do it hahaha

@@parkersgarage4216 Hey dude I meant to reply to this a last week! I went with the Barnett kevlar extra plate kit but in the process I ended up breaking my pressure plate being clumbsy, so then I ordered a Barnett billet pressure plate. The 25% spring I put in made the clutch veryyyy hard to pull in so I fired some 1FNGR easy pull levers and a Magnum black pearl clutch cable and let me tell you the difference is insane. The bike hooks up hard and shifts amazing. It was 110% worth doing both for performance and for reliability. I put one full season on the setup so far and I can't picture going back. If I did it again I would probably go for a 15% spring tho because the 25% really was too much without the easy pull levers. I understand the appeal of a raw and rough man's bike, but this bike isn't it because it seems too compromised in every aspect. Spite needs to realise the bike is just a blunt knife and will never be anything but.

Sometimes ride with a guy with highly modded sportster. Lot of money spent for little gains. Get a older v-max less money more performance and comfort. Just saying.

You don't have to break in the engine to tune it on the dyno

You understand dyno'ing a bike requires redline/ full throttle right?

Honestly.....y’all did a piss poor job keeping up with this build. Not in the aspect of what you guys are doing/did to the bike, but on how much you hype it up. Just wish there was as much energy with this bike as y’all do with your other videos. I’m still staying subbed and love the content..... but just my two cents on the topic.

It's an 883 dude....nobody ever claimed it was fast or had a bunch of power stock. They do however have a plethora of amazing aftermarket parts and the Sportster can be anything from a dirt bike, flat tracker, cruiser, drag bike,cafe racer, or anything else. No other bike has the aftermarket options a Sportster does and that is what makes them fun. I have a few bikes but my 1200 to 1250 with built clutch, motor, suspension with a carbon fiber body is an ripper and some random dudes opinion on the internet that has never ridden a stock one let alone a built Sportster is completely useless.
