Magneto of course will get his time to shine later on in the franchise but I would really like to see Mr. Sinister as well. For me, it has to be sinister - of the X-Men big 4 we’ve had Magneto, Sentinels & Apocalypse already, and they need to set a steady base of their own with the characters before returning to reusing villains After that, though, I’d go curveball. Once we’ve established that mutants are here and are “hated and feared”, go for Cameron Hodge, the Right & Genosha. Hodge can be set up in the first film, but then that second film can see him flip & defect to the Anti-Mutant (slavery may be a step too far for Disney, but maybe selective captive labour like power-generators such as Bolt, Human batteries like Bishop or someone like Petra for clearance/construction or Black Tom for farming)island of Genosha. At the end of the story, it can be revealed (or even be the big mystery which wins the day) that the island is ACTUALLY Krakoa being kept subdued somehow and as a thankyou for releasing it, when Magneto claims the island for Mutants, Krakoa let’s him set up there. That way, you’ve got a nation of mutants away from humans -thus fuelling distrust, a dubious Magneto role. Will he be a threat to humanity as a world leader building on his agenda, or will he be content with a homeland for his kind? Alongside that, on Disney+, I think there’s only one true candidate for a standalone series…X-Factor investigations. Whilst an X-Factor show to show Hodge turning between the two movies might be good, a procedural private detective show would be a mix of a huge genre and a cool way to introduce an army of character not yet/hardly seen

I could see Henry Cavill being Mr Sinister. He has the perfect facial and body structure to portray that character. Cyclops would be another, but definitely NOT Wolverine. Wolverine was a runt, and Henry Cavill is anything BUT a runt. And before anyone starts pointing to Hugh Jackman, I'll say he owned the character, but he was and kind of still is far from comicbook accurate, more like comicbook close now. He's a foot taller than the comicbook Wolverine, and that didn't go unnoticed. Like I said, Hugh Jackman owned the character at a time where creative liberties were more cost effective than comicbook accuracy. Now they can afford to be a little more accurate in their portrayals, like with Beast in the Marvels post-credit. If they gave us an accurate Beast, but turn around and give us another Wolverine who stands eye to eye with the bad guys, and not looking up at them, it will be insulting to the loyal fans who haven't already gotten disgusted yet with all the creative liberties being taken.

I'm down for a Mr.Sinister as the big bad of the Mutant Saga leading to Apocalypse. yeah it might be a while before they try Phoenix Saga again after the last 2 times it didn't go as well. I think the only time that storyline did go well was the 90s version. I'm not sure how well it went in the other animated adaptations, I've yet to see them. but hopefully someone gets that right. But apart from Apocalypse, I think I might be down for something more recent. I'm not sure which storyline though, there's way too much X-Men for me to pick and I don't really follow them as much.

First movie is a set up with Brotherhood of Evil Mutants Second , Tie in the brotherhood of Evil Mutants with the savage land , introduce KAZAR , end credits with Sinister. Third , Sinister storyline leading into Apocalypse. Age of Apocalypse is the X-Men "Infinity/endgame" two parter. Then we gotta have an X-Men VS Avengers. At least that's what I would love to see.

Disney and Marvel are way too family-friendly and children-oriented to ever go there. Bob Iger and Kevin Feige are way too pussified. They won't even show Mephisto. If they can't or won't show Doctor Strange fighting against a devil then they will not even have the balls to show the Goblin Queen, the Darkchylde, S'ym, N'astirh, and the rest of the demons from Belasco's Limbo. Definitely all about Sinister as the villain, and makes a lot of sense. Although I think you're right, I expect well over a year from any casting, because of the size and commitment of the franchise, I could see them definitely having some discussions with people they have in mind to court. This is going to easily lock in the better part of the decade+ for some of these actors and actresses, and I could see attempting to bring in some key players on the ground floor.

I guess it really depends on "which" X-Men we get. If it's the OG X-Men (Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Iceman, Jean Gray / Marvel Girl with Professor X) the "older" villains make more sense. If it's the newer X-Men (including Storm, Kitty Pryde, Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, etc.) other options are more likely. Who knows, we may get a Savage Land storyline. Take care all.

@@trappedinamerica7740 The connection to previous content like comics. I mean we don't get Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, etc. until All-New All-Different X-Men 95. Prior to that it's the OG group. That's a fair bit of content to kind of flush villain wise. Think about this like a slow build and you're climbing the steps. Getting a Mr. Sinister or Apocalypse from the jump bypasses a lot. I mean the villain of Uncanny X-Men #1 is Magneto. It's been done. There are other choices that can be used. Just an opinion of course and I respect yours too.

If Mr. Sinister is the focus villain then let's hope we see this lead to Scott/Cyclops and his family getting some attention, since as you said, Essex is obsessed with Scott's bloodline.

I think Henry Cavill‘s role in Deadpool is not a wolverine variant, but it is Mr. sinister himself. Because I don’t think Marvel would waste an actor like Henry Cavill, on a cameo appearance of Wolverine.

I believe that Apocalypse is who should be the villain in the first MCU XMen movie. They already teased the Kang variant Rama-Tut at the end of Quantumania and I think that would be a natural Segway to Apocalypse having been claimed by Rama-Tut as his heir. The movie could begin with a retconned Sebastian Shaw, AKA Baron Shaw, searching for the tomb of Apocalypse. Under the guise of HYDRA's mission to seek out the legendary and occult.
