I'm a Steve Rodgers fan, not a Chris Evens fan. He did the best portrayal of the character yet... but no way we should end the character with him. Could you imagine if people didnt want to remake the joker to save grace for the past actors? We would never of had Heath Ledger elevating that character. To say RDJ or Evens will always be the best versions is niave. The next Iron man or Cap actors might do what heath ledger did. I am saying I feel that there’s a way to do it without erasing their characters from the current MCU. Maybe our current MCU main universe could go through an incursion causing the need for our characters to move to another universe where Iron Man and Captain America don’t exist yet. Or maybe during Secret Wars we get a Tony Stark or Steve Rogers from another universe, pre iron man and maybe even a Steve Rogers who hasn’t yet gone under the ice.

The way the MCU should reboot is by keeping the surviving heroes with the same actors and remembering every single event pre-Secret Wars while every hero that dies is recast and has no memory of anything prior to the original timeline. For example, if Doctor Strange survives he will still be played by Benedict Cumberbatch and remember every event that occurred while anyone like Iron Man, Captain America, or Scarlet Witch die or were dead long before Secret Wars they would be recast and have absolutely no memory of the previous events or the surviving heroes. And time travel would also be changed as well nobody will be able to travel to the past since everything post-Secret Wars would no longer exist you can only time travel within the new timeline.

Here's the problem I have with them rebooting the universe. It's a great idea that is happening WAY TO SOON. Bob Chapek and, to some degree, Kevin Fiege rushed a storyline that only should've happened 10 to 12 years from now. There are so many storylines that could've been their own phases such as Secret Invasion, The coming of Galactus, Avengers vs. X men. All of these could've been their own phases or evens sagas. The multiverse saga has been such a botched storyline because it was rushed into existence when this should've been the current MCU's last hurrah. The only reason their doing this in the first place is because they wanna do those storylines that I've previously listed, but sadly, we have to deal with people who shit their pants at the idea of bringing those storylines to life without having Iron man being a part of it

The reason why the MCU worked in the 1st place because they took their time and strategically produced content and a story and while doing so was able to incorporate each movie with each other. Producing content to fast is causing the problem..they cannot keep up with themselves. If they reboot the MCU, I hope this doesn't mean that they'll erase phase 1-3 and start over again. This would just make those movies from those phases be useless or a waste of time because they would be adding the same avengers again for phase 7. What I want is for phase 7 to still be focusing on the avengers that were introduced in phase 4-6 and give them sequels. If phase 7 is a reboot, then how can Spider-Man get his 5th and 6th solo films? how can Black Panther, Eternals, Captain Marvel and Shang-Chi get their third film? I hope the first 6 phases don't get erased and still be there while focusing on the Fox avengers and MCU avengers during phase 7 and 8.

I think a soft reboot is a good idea, as long as they keep the MCU historical record intact. By what was suggested in this video, many different universes would be destroyed in future movies. The only survivors might be the heroes (mutants & other variants of Cap. Am., Iron Man, Black Widow...etc). Which would give them a built in angst & trauma to be fuel for future stories. And like the "the Blip", where our universe had to get used to a 5 year gap & all the changes that brought,...these new Multi Universe refugees could also spark a whole new set of feelings & politics within the main Marvel Universe. The reason fans have had a strong connection to the characters, is because Marvel spent years developing those characters through multiple movies. We first saw Black Widow in an Iron Man movie. Hawkeye first bobbed up in Thor. We can't expect new characters to simply arrive and be received the same way. It takes time to build an audience connection. As the new characters begin to come together they will grow on us.

I have mixed positions regarding a reboot. I wpuld have preferred if it happened way before we got to this point (15 years and 20+ movies and shows). It would mean throwing all that away like nothing. On the other side, it would be positive to have certain important characters that were unavailable in the first 2-3 phases of the MCU (FF4, X-men), given that they played important roles altogether. So, a reboot would mean that this time they can do that. Although I expect it would happen in like 10- 20 years from now.

There was a rumor that the reboot has already been set within "End Game". The two snaps Hulks and Iron Man's. Now this part is just a theory on my part. They could essentially roll it back to Hulk's because Kang need Tony to die because he was a threat to his plans. To on final trip back in time during Kangs final battle with the Avengers. RDJ comes back and Kang Teams up with Thanos. This battle fractures the multiverse and the fantastic Four preserves what's left.

I think having a reboot could be good and bad. On the positive side, it would allow totally new characters to be introduced (such as the X-Men and Excalibur) and we also get a recast of all of our favourite characters like Iron man and Captain America. On the negative side, lots of people have grown up with this universe and it would be sad to see everything be reset.

Don’t erase the past simply focus in a new direction for the future. U have a great doorway with Deadpool and so far that looks like the best way to have the MCU shift. Yeah maybe a soft reboot wouldn’t bother us hardcore fans, but if you are the average movie goer who is not a MCU super fan I can totally see it turning off a lot of casual fans as too much or too complicated. I personally would understand it & like you Warren I am already thinking of ways that they could keep some of the past & still start over & it could be cool. I think could be a ticklish situation with some fans.

Honestly that’s a good way to end off the MCU completely the mcu should not continue after secret wars and we should keep the iconic moments it has and not ruin it by overdoing it this doesn’t sound great but trust me it would probably be best

In the comics, Marvel used Secret Wars to do a soft reboot; they brought in all the characters people liked and got rid of the ones nobody liked lol I see the MCU doing the same thing, Especially given the fact that we're in The Multiverse Saga-bring in different characters from alternate realities and then "collapse" the Multiverse into one singular reality like they did in the comics. I'm all for it, but the part that worries me is the MCU seems to have forgotten how to tell *COMPELLING STORIES* so, starting over is a waste of time if the MCU keeps making the same mistakes 😮‍💨

I think personally for storytelling reasons if they were trying to have all of the rights to characters so they could interact in a earlier MCU setting unlike what happened at the start I think this would work best. Not having the X-Men/Fantastic 4 introduced earlier in the first couple of phases offset everything in my opinion. Actors who can't interact with other actors we love and enjoy can't happen because they already played the character for 20+years by the time the reset occurs. And or actors that we love couldn't interact during the same time period.

I have read Marvel comics since I could read in 1969. I think the first thing I ever I bought was a comic book Avenger #23. The stories have always been changing - always re-booting - its a comicbook - its for fun. I think it will be fun!

I'd absolutely would love a reboot. Have everything start back in the 60's with Fantastic 4 and X-Men. They have everything back except a couple characters. But both of them available.

A soft reboot is a good idea and we should have a point person (like in Spider-Man or Loki or anyone) to follow the new universe. So that the viewers are not confused. Also interaction between 2 same character is fun to see in the films (like spiderman nwh). It's not so bad.

We are expecting most of the Avengers to make it through Secret Wars. I could see the need for one seeing that mostly everyone is toast after Secret Wars. A fresh start might be what is going to be needed.

Disney Marvel has been burning too quickly through important stories for their selected core characters. And launching headlong into multiverse / secret wars already just accelerates things. But, to reboot would effectively be an admission of guilt, that they made wrong choices. I do not expect that from Disney.

They should reboot in the sense that we’ll never see the original avengers again and focus on a new team. It’s not really a reboot. But rather a new beginning with a new team and people
