The Loam Ranger's flight got cancelled due to an ice storm. Instead of sitting inside, we decided to send it down one of the most technical descents in Austin while it was covered in ice. I'm starting to notice a trend of "issues" happening whenever I film in this area.

Jordan Byron I've bombed that thing so much it was only a matter of time when I would crash! Thankfully, I was wearing so many layers that I just bounced off the rocks! 👍

Agree with you. Just need to fine tune for your type of riding. Added Fox 36 forks and DPX2 shock to mine. There is no perfect bike out there that does it all very well.

Great video man! I have just 1 suggestion. Maybe get some sort of clip for your hose on the hydration pack. It swings around on the chunky downhill stuff and gets in the way a bit. Thanks for another great video!

I actually have a clip and I haaaate it when I forget to secure the hose out of the way. Such a rookie move. Glad you enjoyed it anyway!

Brady Essary not 100% sure if they tried paving the whole thing at one point, but nature has reclaimed most of it. It's such a gorgeous area of Austin, so I'm glad it's not developed!

Y'all need to hit up St Ed's. A mile long climb/descent with a loop at the top that joins back up with the climb about halfway up. The loop has some pretty good tech and climbing and some high exposure sections about 75-100 yards above Bull Creek.

MTB Scotland maxxis rekons. They are plus size tires, so they try to keep the side walls as thin as possible for weight savings. Already blew out the rear this past summer, so the front was just a matter of time. 😔 Not to say they didn't hold up to abuse like a champ.

Short story time: The other week, my GF and I went to the beach on our fat bikes. It was 50° and rainy on Lake Michigan and so all the ice was melting. I felt more confident riding down the ice on my bike...and then I went down because it was wet, but it didn't hurt my confidence because I knew I was just being a dumbass lol.

Trail Features what is the lowest you run? I run 10psi on my Kenda Havocs with no wheel-shift. My buddy runs the same tires, and he can only get to 8psi before he get rimstrikes. Let me know next time you head to Walnut creek! I can come shred a quick sesh!
@TrailFeatures
@TrailFeatures 6 жыл бұрын
I've found that with my 27x2.8 I can run 18psi in back and 17-16 in front (depending on the trail). Once the weather calms down a bit, I'm hoping to do a sub ride around town, so keep an eye out for that!
