I don't hate the group. I actually like NJ songs. But this just gonna break themselves with bankruptcy. They can not own or use the "New Jeans" name, which 5 of them didn't create. Even though they will fight for it, they will pay lot of contract penalty because of profits. Only the judge will decide to resolve this issues in court hearing. And 5 of these young girls need a real master degree attorney on their side.

Plus these girls are young, they've spent most of their lives practicing to debut, they do not know anything about the world of law and Hybe knows this, meaning it's easy to exploit. Hanni tried to claim that she was bullied when she had no substantial evidence nor was the offense related to workplace bullying due to the fact she was not considered an employee. I believe that it happened, but you have to play it patiently and accumulate some amount of evidence. They were too rash and didn't realise how complicated their contract terms would be, but one thing that baffles me is how they didn't think about the fact that Hybe has so much more funding to put into legal cases and they have so much experience with it. Then again it's smart to leave before ADOR ruins their future comebacks and plummets their reputation (that was Hybe's goal since the beginning). In my opinion, the only ones to get out of the contract penalties will be Haerin and Hyein since they're minors but if not, then the korean justice system will face a crazy amount of backlash

They actually went to the meetings with the label and some settled in court and some settled outside of court. But overall most idols have lost and have had to pay the company, with the way newjeans have been conducting themselves in the media, hybe/ador would have to be saints to just let them go. It sucks but I wholeheartedly believe that if newjeans want to leave, they will have to pay. They want to avoid court so bad but these are legal documents, you don’t just get to say no and that be it, a judge has to rule in newjeans favor and with everything the media knows, its highly unlikely to happen. They have not shown any real evidence of anything, period, just hearsay. And if they had real, irrefutable evidence, why not go to court so they can be done with it? My theory: they have nothing, they were probably told to make a big fuss and if it was big enough, then the company might just fire them. But there’s been way too much money invested in them for the label to let them go, so either they will pay the fine, be put back to work or be partially working and partially on hiatus until their contracts expire. Because the way it seems to me, they’ve presented nothing that would make a judge rule in their favor and your feelings being hurt is not a contract violation. Even their claim over being overworked would have to be proven, this is the real world and you need proof of your claims when it comes to the law

Unless their contract explicitly stipulates that ADOR or HYBE needs to protect them, and that they can unilaterally terminate the contract if THEY feel like ADOR or HYBE has failed to protect them, then they have a case. But we also need to remember that in the eyes of the court, ADOR and HYBE are different entities (that's the technicality that won MHJ the 1st injunction). They need to prove that whoever they signed the contract with, violated the contract. This word salad non-evidence of mistreatment that they keep providing is not gonna stick in court. NewJeans gave 14 day notice for new ADOR to fix their demands. ADOR ignored them and in NewJeans contracts if ADOR doesn’t meet NewJeans demands they can terminate their contract with a 14 day notice which they did. MHJ wanted humane contract for the artist she’s work with that’s why it’s in their contract. People aren’t used to seeing this because most kpop companies have terrible contracts to begin with. That’s why they terminated their contracts at midnight it had been past the 14 day period. They don’t need to do an injunction like everyone else. NewJeans knows their contracts better than some random nobody on the internet.

FYI - MHJ didn't sign them, their intial contract was with Source Entertainment another HYBE Subsidiary, the contract was transferred to Ador BUT not resigned - it will be the standard intial 7 year contract that is signed by all potential new artists, under HYBE. Which will be similar to contracts with other companies, it is pretty much a standard contract that will only get revised if they resigned, part of those contracts involve penalties for leaving early, they are watertight, and Ador/HYBE were smart putting a HR Specialist as the CEO of Ador in replacement of MHJ she would ensure that Ador kept to their contracted obligations to the members. These girls don't have a leg to stand on. As clearly announced by Ador/HYBE in a follow-up media release they are NOT released from their exclusive contract.

Then they need to have evidence and a lawsuit- but no they just hold a press conference and say they have terminated the contract- they think Adore and Hybe are going to accept that?! The girls have no understanding of how a contract works and it seems neither does their lawyers/advisors. They have basically ruined their future. No other agency is going to take on such entitled, arrogant troublemakers.

It will be perfect if universal UMG sign them, so they will be in the same label as Taylor swift. Hybe American ceo is scooter Braun. So It will be interesting.

They were already under UMG in a way.. since they violated their contract with HYBE, they also violated their contract with UMG.. UMG singed a deal to distribute pretty much all of HYBE's music in US for next 7 or 10 years I think, idk if it extends globally though..
