I was hoping it was going to be Mischief 2.0 with some added twists to it, not just Kunark start. So many good ideas were suggested on the forums by people and not a single has seen the light of day. Honestly expected a lot more than just reusing an old ruleset for the 25th.

Agreed, Teek will be super popular. Ruleset looks ok, it's what most people want. Kunark start will cause a change in tactics, etc, for players rushing to level. That's pretty cool.

My educated guess is that Teek will be crashing and has long que times. Longer than when Thornblade handled the overflow of Mischief.

Mannn I dunno about this random loot thing. I'm planning on playing TLP since I started playing EQ in 2000 right after velious came out, and I'd like to get that nostalgia feel. I need to do some research on what makes random loot fun. Haven't played since I think 2006, but I had an easy 10000hrs on my main.

mixes things up, also stops the bots that take over certain camps (efreeti) from monopolizing drops of the boots for example.. Makes raids interesting, dont know what the boss is going to drop.

@@RedSiBaron epic pieces work the same way for most part … no change there.. pipe only from pawbuster but say a funghi stick could drop for any rare mob in the same level range

Teek is Franklin Teek, some human in a robe that gives out quests in PoK! Tormax is far superior in the name department.

I missed mischief entirely. What exactly is Random Loot Free Trade? Sounds like anything can drop off any mob and you can trade what is normally no-trade items? Is that it?

The terms don't properly convey just how awesome it makes the game. Free trade is easy - everything has the "no drop" removed except certain specific items (epics etc). Random means that theres a bonus chance to get a certain bracket of items on any named mobs in the same level range. So basically if you need an item and the mob it drops on is camped to hell, you can kill other named in the same level range and have a chance to get the item you're after in addition to the mob's regular loot (I think in addition to, not a replacement of). Someone correct me if I got that wrong, I wasn't around for mischief until the past few months.

It's their most popular TLP to date. Bots can't lock anything down because the loot is random and you see items you normally don't see on other servers which makes the server extremely fun and exciting.

​@@Zodemus Oh hey I got a reply by the most clueless EQ player of all time. Farmers are already playing on every TLP server with either multi-PC or VM setups. People who just want to casually two box from the same PC are the exact opposite of farmers.

@@Khorza EQ runs on a potato. If you want to run two accounts then just use a laptop or something. It’s incredibly easy. Sorry but I just feel that all of you people using 3rd party software to run multiple accounts on the same machine ruined the game.

@@Zodemus Yes I understand how truebox works. I did the 2 PC thing on Agnarr from launch to PoTime and it's just not a very fun way to play the game. If I was using "3rd party software to run multiple accounts from the same machine" then why would I care about truebox? Those people exist and are on every TLP already. Truebox doesn't stop them. It's casual players who want a relaxed truebox ruleset. You are incredibly confused.

Yea daybreak TLP's are very different than p99. You can bot and cheat and not really face any trouble. Maybe a couple days ban. P99 has a lot less cheaters. and the volunteers actually GM their server for free but daybreak can't manage to do it...somehow.

I played back in 99-2002, and I've played the last 4 TLPs, and one in 2016; If you tell people up front you're "new", or haven't played in a while, people are generally very nice, and understanding. That being said, it's way more min max than it used to be, and people expect you to play to the meta. I think you'd have a good time, just be open, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
