I recently watched an interview with them, maybe in Nov.or Dec. and he was so affectionate with her. The show's interest is in ratings, not finding love. They tried everything to get Matt to propose to Rachael; he refused...At some point after the show ended, he let her back in his life to try again (Reason? IMO, to save & build their brands) ...It was only after they got back together, the franchise put him on DWTS...No shock here. ... They both are better off with someone else... This is much better than going through a divorce...Best wishes to both of them...

I think she probably was the one that ended it, but I think it was because she had to come to Jesus conversation with him after Christmas and New Year’s and then the anniversary of the show. I think she finally said to him it’s now or I walk. Because her timeline was that she wanted to be engaged by 27 and it’s well beyond that now. As a woman we have to consider these things. And I think he told her in that exact moment what her worst fear was, which was that he still loved her, thought she was his life partner, indicated and verbally said he wanted to be engaged to her, but would NEVER BE READY. I think he probably is genuinely heartbroken but I believe she is beyond that probably. To have wasted that poor girls fucking time for that long and now, at 28, 6 months from 29, she has to 1.) grieve and mourn this relationship, 2.) grieve and mourn what you swore would be your future, 3.) and start the dating thing from square fucking one again. Knowing your biological clock is ticking. And probably add another step in there like heal in therapy from this shit. It’s INSANE.

I'm only somewhat surprised. I'm surprised because they seemed happy, and they were always posting their adventures and food videos. However, there was something underlying it - a tension I think. The years waned on. Rachael lived with him and truly loved him. I think she was waiting for a proposal. I think she was expecting it to come, but it never did. Matt even indicated it was coming, but it never came. At a certain point, I think she may have confronted Matt about this, and I don't think he was ready. Perhaps he had some reservations about her, perhaps he wasn't fully ready to commit, or perhaps he was concerned about marrying. I think when they had that conversation and she found out that he wasn't proposing (at least any time soon if at all), she decided to move on.
