These companies no longer make vehicles for working people. When a vehicle costs $50,000 or more, it's out of reach for the average worker. That's why they're facing financial problems. Yet, their CEOs still receive millions in compensation, no matter how poorly the company is performing.

It takes will and innovation by manufacturers to build a smaller, efficient reliable vehicle than the large traditional high profit, inefficient, luxury vehicles that not everybody needs or wants or can afford. They used to sell a ton of them and make fat profits on R&d on decades ago while foreign manufacturers focused on the whole spectrum of vehicles from bread and butter transportation to high quality luxury vehicles that the domestic manufacturers ignored. I'm glad to see customers in America are pushing back and refusing to be part of their con game.

IT wont work! The JEEP GranCherokee is 61,000 dollars, and that is low price. The other vehicles are upwards toward 99,000 dollars. NOBODY is buying because nobody can afford them. The dealers lots are stuffed with 2 and 3 year old vehicles they can't sell. Then we are told that the factory is not full filling orders for smaller , less expensive vehicles because they want to make the money on the more expensive trucks. In the mean time, the are laying off workers from the factories. Creating more problems for the economy. No money means no one buys new cars... Mary Bara gave herself a multi million dollar raise some months back. She said she deserved it. Her quiting GM and fleeing seems to say she wants to keep that money. GM is in the same position as the other dealers are, they are stuffed with over priced trucks and cars and they can't sell them. Everyone knows the economy is making the home owner/car or truck buyer tight on money. When a truck costs the price of a average house, they tend to walk by and keep the old vehicle, the one with NO car payments, longer. The manufacturers need to produce some low price cars and trucks to get over this economic busted time, but they have taken lessons from disney, when the guest numbers are down, RAISE PRICES. I wonder why disney parks have reduced guest numbers???? Toyota has just announced a new truck that should hit the market at about 23,000 dollars. They will make a killing.

they just do not understand the american market..they NEED to start selling cheap, simple, robust "fun cars" like they used to....dodge had the neons and stuff in the 80's like omnis and rampage pickups and the 4 cyl dakotas with stick shifts, chevy had 4cyl LUV pickups and S10's and the cavaliers and the chevettes..ford had the escorts and the little ranger 4 cyls...dirt cheap 4cyl mustangs and 2.8 v6 camaros ALL OVER.people love cheap 4 cyl throw away cars here..they were selling massive amounts of small pickups and 4 cylinder cars...like the chargers for instance, come up with a little 4 cyl stick shift charger like the 80's ones then sell them for like 12,500...they wont be able to make them fast enough..even foreign cars were selling like the geo metros and ford festivas, chevy aveo's, volkswagen rabbits and rabbit pickups and subaru brats etc...americans like cheap simple robust 4 cylinder stuff that is fun to drive...just what the car needs and nothing else, stay away from the fancy high quality high price stuff they are pushing and go back to simple vinyl floor mat stuff with crank windows and stick shift and none of the electronics and airbags all over. all through the 70's 80's and 90's the cheap cars were the most popular

GM sales in China and pretty much Asia have collapsed, China was their biggest market a couple of years ago, but now in china there is plenty of more affordable options with better quality and electric, now 50% of every car sold in china is electric/plugin hybrid. GM and Stellantis just cant produce an affordable EV, they are changing their efforts in selling in the US where US goverment can protect them, but this strategy is not going to work for a long time. Time is ticking and GM, Ford, Stellantis and many others are in very very big trouble.
