Last week, the DNCG, French football’s financial watchdog, took the decision to provisionally relegate the club to Ligue 2, amid mounting debt. Such an outcome was expected considering that the Ligue 1 club’s debt reportedly rose from €458 million to €508 million.

US soccer has to stop hoarding all the money. Spend more on youth and you will get your returns 10 fold.

Yes, and stop the pay to play system. How can poor and working class even afford the money, time off work etc to help young girls become great.

@dylanmaxey2531 Pay to play exists because nobody volunteers to coach. Good coaches are expensive, extra training is expensive, rental field time is expensive especially in the winter. It's not pay to play it's the lack of interest in the sport that makes it expensive.

@@didier_777 Sadly true, that is what hurts the US we do not have a more European system due the board variety of sports here that draw funds away. Plus local Parks and Recs are always having the budgets cuts over the decades. Still it screws over the poorer kids outside the urban or wealthy areas. One day it might improve.
