Wooooah I was highly expecting Final Fantasy 16 to get a DLC, but TWO! Wow this is a lot to speculate over and put the clown noses on for. Will it be an FF16 ending changing DLC, Cid / Ramuh DLC, Lost Leviathan DLC!? Also a patch for Final Fantasy 16 has just gone live introducing new outfits to Joshua, Clive, Torgal and Jill. Final Fantasy 16 PC port has been announced as in the works and trailer on all this dropped on the SQUARE ENIX Final Fantasy page! Yeeehaaaa! What a surprise drop of news that came during a FF16 VA livestream. So good to see 'western' showcases being given big juice. 1 DLC I was expecting... but TWO!? I really hope it is a Cid/Dion combo for one and a Joshua/Lost Leviathan second. Big play Square Enix. Think this may actually be the happiest I've ever felt over a DLC announcement 🥳

Anyone riding with Bri on the FF16-2 hopes. I know many say it's 'not possible'. But frankly while I want this addressed and wrapped up in these DLC's personally. I'm hoping for some kind of ending pivot/expansion. 1/16th of Ultima can open the possibility to either! Where you guys sitting with 16-2 or an ending change?

I’m kinda on the 16-2 copium as well because of possible outer continent shenanigans with Jill (and maybe even clive) + another ryota suzuki combat system using 16 as a skeleton (likely shorter dev time). I just want to see CBU3 build off of this game because I really think they have something good here. Regardless, Yoshida’s words were encouraging to hear.

1st DLC would be a character PACK (Cid & Joshua prequel/time-skip content with unique combat dynamic for each), 2nd DLC will be Shimmering Isle(-land a la IX)/ Soul Journey/ Finding Leviathan -> and, I says with confidence clad in clown makeup, a hook towards XVI-2 or spin-off.

I can understand your idea Pez, so here is my speculation. 1st DLC - probably a combination of the past and present. Like Ultima's motivation to create the world and the people of Valisthea and the reason why Leviathan has become "The Lost". Then we jump to the present where Cid encounter Benedikta, discover her arc etc (maybe play as Ramuh, Garuda and Odin potentially?), uncover who Ultima is and also who was Levi's dominant, also the reason why Cid left Barnabas. 2nd DLC - probably focus on Valisthea before the blight, all the way through the current game which includes young Dion, Elwin losing his father, the northern region of Valisthea where Jill was from. There will probably be more added for sure - maybe some of your idea Pez and Bri's as well 😁 I like the new costume, the glam system which for weapons and etc, probably the dev team will add in more quality of life changes for the UI and so forth . I dislike the FFXV's character episodic DLC type, bcoz it's a poor way to patch up the holes that were in the main story, but i understand why they did it. But i have do disagree with Bri about a 16-2 sequel, i don't see it happening, sorry Bri 🤔

Lets get some Cid as Lord Commander, and how he ended up leaving. More Waloed Lore. Get to see some more of Barnabas and Benna, maybe even have them be party members for that segment, like Intergrade did for FF7R. I Think Leviathan is another strong contender for DLC.

DLC 1: You control Joshua, and it show his journey with Jote since he was rescued until the events of the game. DLC 2: The tale of Cid as Lord Commander of Barnabas, how he rescues Benedikta, how he finds about ultima even if partially, and his fallout from him.... that could maybe be the death of Leviathan's Dominant? You'd control Cid. Extra: Super bosses, maybe dungeons?

I think one of the most potentially interesting things about Cid that was hinted at is the fact that he wasn't surprised to see Ultima. In fact he said something along the lines of knowing who Ultima is.

leviathan dlc, there was a leak back in march for FF16 turn out to be accurate about "Ultma/Clive mother..." also mention in the leak that leviathan is missing and planned for future dlc... here what i hope for : leviathan is mentioned in the game to be lost, Jill and torgal their origin from the north so what i want from the the DLC or FFXVI-II to continue Clive story post the game, Clive is about to turn to stone and die then the dominants of leviathan (maybe the medicine girl) appear and heal him, meanwhile Jill think Clive is DEAD and base on here dialogic with Clive in the Flower scene " that she want to leave the Twin and spread her wings" so jill decide to go back to the north with torgal and that is your story "Clive spend all the DLC or FFXVI-II searching for Jill" and how it will end i don't know maybe "Happy Ending" Clive and Jill spend their last days together...

All I wanted since FFXVI came out was a Joshua DLC they could fill in what he has been doing since Clive was a slave soldier or after he captured one of the Ultimah's during the time Clive and Jill was rebuliding the Hideaway they could do so much! I can't help it Joshua is actually my favorite character next to Clive and has my favorite dominent "The Phoenix"

I'd like in depth lore and a nice look into the fallen. I like that they're adding new outfits. The no outfit change after 5 years for Jill and Clive was a peeve for me lol. I just want a lit more story. I feel like a good bit was missing. Not as bad as ff15 but it definitely missing.

You know... I like the air of mystery surrounding Cid and I don't think I would want his backstory spoon-fed to me. We already get a pretty detailed recounting of his life through the side-quests throughout the game with the various different NPCs that he's made pacts with in the past. I think that should be left alone. I wouldn't mind, however, seeing what happened with Leviathan, or the events that led to the awakening of Ultima 1 and how Barnabas became corrupted.

I want FFXVI-2🔥 too in addition to the DLCs. I want to follow a story with tremendous depth that we keep building on and CBU3 has a good record of this with FF14 expansions - I’m sure many single players want to experience that too. If ff13 can get 2 full sequels despite the base game being controversial in reviews, yet FFXVI is getting much better reviews so I can’t see why it wouldn’t get a full sequel. DLC and sequel can work e.g. FF7R project. For the DLCs I think the best ideas are playable Cid & Dion with Leviathan inter woven in one of their stories. I want a lot more DLCs though 😓 and I’d still buy a sequel. Other DLCs I think would be great are playable Jill & adult Joshua. For Jill DLC we could explore her backstory in the Northern Territories and her time as a captive in the Iron Kingdom (since we don’t really get to explore the Iron Kingdom mainland at all in the base game) and it could end where FFXVI starts at the Shiva-Titan battle but this time we get to play as Shiva and fight Titan! For Cid, could also appease players who want more on Benedikta and Barnabas (& his hot mother) and delve deeper into their backstory. The other obvious is Cid’s time in the outer continent. Being in control of Ramuh, some Eikon battles I can imagine possibly with Garuda & Odin but also Bahamut (Cid went to the Oriflamme crystal before). If a sequel happens then I want playable Jill (especially in that new sexy outfit!) leaving the Twin’s (Outer Continent) as she says to Clive “when all this is over I want to spread my wings” and then go full FFX-2 🤪. But the ‘Executors’ (who give FFX-2’s Trema vibes in withholding history) could play a big role too.. Another possibility for DLC is that we will get Leviathan & Dzemekeys crater story but it will go to around the Fallen era (with a new playable character - the Dominant of Leviathan?) and explain how Leviathan gets “Lost” and perhaps end with a short teaser showing Kihel has awoken as the new Leviathan Dominant and keeping it secret - perhaps even showing she got Clive to the beach. That cliffhanger would create hype for a sequel!) about the endless possibilities.

I kinda want one of the DLC to just feature dark medieval setting Gilgamesh and have it be an interesting concept around that. I want new interesting scenarios the most and I think it would be cool to have Gilgamesh sorta be someone that is in between being human and having the strength of a dominant. I like Gilgamesh.

I do think there will be a 16-2 or spin offs just like with 7. Personally, I need resolution with the red star, Leviathan, the prior civilization, other continents, and the new airship that we didn't get.

I just hope they put in a feature for cross platform saves. Ubisoft does this in AC where you can keep playing your save on PC and vice versa. But I don’t think a Square Enix game has ever done this.

Haven't finished the game yet but I do want to see if we can visit the uncharted Northern Territories and also Tyler isn't greyed out on the persons chart which could possibly mean that he's alive?! I'm up to Ultima now but have decided to go back and beat the S hunts so I can get that Götterdämmerung blade. Loving all the Easter eggs and call-backs!

Plus if we get a Leviathan ep I feel like we would simultaneously get lore on the ruins at the same time since Leviathan was most likely there at the beginning maybe see what the ruined ships were like when they were flying before everything crashed

Betting on Leviathan and Cid as the two choices for DLC. I just hope they're meaty and not as skimpy as the character episodes for ff15, but feels like they'll try to reuse existing assets so it won't be hugely different sets. I'd love for it to be full blown 14-style expansions but that's just not possible 😅

One of the other guys in the team was called Aevis, so I thought they were just "code names" based on dragons (since they are from the Empire). Biast (the guy that got crushed by the boulder) is another dragon-type enemy in FF.

In a game like Final Fantasy, DLC's feel kinda off for me. Leviathan was cut off to do DLC. So it's no surprise we are getting additional content that was cut off for this one purpose. I liked Final Fantasy 16 but modern DLC politics are just awful and just there to take our money. A few weeks ago, def Team said that DLC will only come if it fans would like to have some. I say, they were always planed.

Unpopular opinion. Not going to give them more money for story based dlc when they just showed me they dont have the balls to actually write an ending to their own story. Leaving the ending up to the audience is lazy writing and just the worst.
