I’ve convinced myself that the reason we won’t see a medieval 2 remaster soon is because CA is in the process of making medieval 3 and doesn’t want a similar game released within the same time frame. It’s probably unrealistic but one can hope :)

For this reason we don't want 'remaster' of Medieval 2... cause combat there is not as good and is outdated. Even if thinking Medieval 2 Remake, why not get Medieval 3 instead?

@@devapath8951 Cause Med 3 will probably be a cashgrab, reskinned Attilla, have missing parts of the map and so on. Imagine the modding potential like in the Imperium Surrectum for Rome Remaster. Mods such as Divide and Conquer or Stainless Steel ported and refined. Perfection. 💯

IMHO, a Medieval 2 remaster is pretty much guaranteed till 2025-2026 (despite the previous cancellation happened in 2021-2022 due to the underperformance of Rome) because the demand is too strong to be ignored. Also, it would be an easy cash grab and CA knows that, especially if they learn from past mistakes. That being said, I would be surprised if it doesn't come up before 2027 at the latest. What do you think guys?

​@@Atrus999 They need time to reassess their strategy after the previous cancellation happened back in 2021-2022 (Rome remastered underperformed) so it may take them longer than it should. That doesn't mean the remaster will not happen, just that it won't be too soon thus we need to be patient. They will eventually do it, it's just a matter of time in my opinion.

I think it's more likely they release Medieval 3 in the 2025-2026 timeframe you mentioned because they said I think last year that they're working with a Medieval weapons expert for motion capture (matched combat), so the next game that comes out in the next 1-2 years is probably Medieval 3 or Renaissance Total War and if it's Medieval 3 it wouldn't make sense to release Medieval 2 remastered before that.

They made some crucial mistakes with Rome Remastered. - They majorly changed the UI - They didn't made a lot of marketing (I just remember one poor trailer) - Pathfinding was still an issue and that is a major flaw for a modern game Medieval 2 and Empire don't have such a problem with pathfinding; now they know that they have to keep the UI and I don't think Medieval 2 needs as much marketing as Rome did. The possibility of remastered version of Medieval 2 and Empire are the sole reason I still watch TW channels from time to time.

I heard that it got cancelled due to the underperformance of Rome Remastered. However, it may still be coming since time has passed by then. It would be a non brainer to not capitalize on it, so I think it is coming... Not very soon, but it does. I would expect it by 2026 or 2027 at the latest

It'd make sense for them to go the path Microsoft took with AoE2DE Like pick a game, lets say Empire, fix all the bugs, add or remove whatever features that make sense, then port all campaigns from Rome to Shogun 2 as DLCs

I liked Rome total war on mobile i played over 200 hours over the past 2 years. ( Don't ask how, I still don't know). Bu these are just becoming new cash grabs . I would much rather see a remastered empire total war.

Any tips on controls? I only play auto resolve because my fingers are to big for the gestures in proper battle compared to PC

@@Abuqital2000 try and set it up at the start of the battle the best you can, then just use double tap to move your units. It is too difficult to accurately line up your troops after that. But probably best to use auto resolve if you are having difficulties.

That doesn't necessarily mean that a med2 remaster is never going to happen, just not too soon. The demand for a remaster is very high and the trend of remasters and remakes are a good opportunity to revisit these games. I still think we have good chances, overall.

I got TW: Medieval II on mobile, and... I find its impossible to play, cumbersome controls, too small a display for a game of this type. I have given up on mobile gaming out of the puzzle/ word types.

I’m not sure what your complaint is man. The games that have already been ported are faithful to their pc counterparts in every aspect, and it’s quite comfortable to play them on a big iPad. It’s ideal for people who love these types of games, but find it difficult/cumbersome to sit in front of a pc for long chunks of time.
