I think the reason Trump didn't pick Cannon for AG is that he is saving her for a supreme court pick once Thomas or Alito most likely steps down during this term. Also I wouldn't be so sure of this current supreme court ruling the 22nd Amendment into nonexistence, they already did it with the 14th for the most part... so when it comes to 2028 I'd say to be prepared for the worst to happen.
