Each judicial district is overseen by a supreme court justice. There are 13 judicial district's in the USA. With 9 supreme court justices, that means some supreme court justices look after two or more districts. It would seem better for there to be one supreme court justice for each judicial district, which would mean appointing four more supreme court justices. The American system of making appointing judges, at every level, a political decision is open to abuse, especially as federal appointments carry life time terms. It would be better if the American Bar Association were given the power to appoint and remove judges.

The prosecution's failure to timely file charges should not translate into the courts rushing a trial that violates a defendant's right to a fair trial. A rushed trial with a conviction that gets overturned will lead to serious claims that the prosecution was politically motivated election interference.

As an outsider, the US judicial system is mind boggling to me. The fact that a democracy's judiciary can be so politically biased is astonishing. The actual process which has brought you to this Republican weighted 6-3 Supreme Court is shocking to say the least.
