Immunity has often been used to shield even police officers from criminal liability and if given the chance Trump would be more than willing to push that envelope to the limits. You really don't need to know that much about the Constitution to know that the president is not a king and is not all-powerful. This is supposedly a democracy, which has no all-powerful leader. And a republic by definition doesn't have a monarch.
