Can you tell me please if it's possible to see any capsule on an ultrasound that might have been left over when removing breast implants?

I’ve racked my brain on this one, and I should know the answer to this, but I have to admit that I’m not sure. I’ve never specifically looked for or evaluated a breast capsule itself after a breast implant has been removed. I imagine that a capsule without an implant would probably look like an area of thickened tissue that’s different in appearance than the adjacent breast tissue. You’ve stumped me…and that’s hard to do in breast ultrasound! Calling all breast radiologists….do any of you know the answer to this question???

@@SonographyMinutes Thank you for responding. Yes the capsule is the scar tissue that the body creates around the implant/foreign object and becomes very thick. When the implants are removed, often times some of the scar tissue capsule is left behind and the woman never recovers. That's why it's important to know if there is any imaging that might pick this up.

Could an implant look completely intake in a MRI but still be ruptured ?
