Yeah, sorry for the delays! This video took me way longer than it should! I've had this problem recently where all my videos end up snowballing into these giant projects and it's kind of been getting out of hand as of recently. It's lead to an overall improvement in my Critiques and Nintendrone videos, but I think Uncivil Synopsis has kind of suffered from it a bit. After all, the whole concept from the beginning was that it was just garbage stuff that I could consistently put out, but now that I've gotten better with making videos, I tend to polish the videos more and it ends up taking MUCH LONGER, which kind of sucks. I think moving forward, I might try to make the Uncivil Synopsis videos a bit shorter and maybe try to hit that 10-15 minute per game sweet spot. That way, I might be able to put out videos faster and I don't have to overly commit to some grand epic bullshit, when in reality, it's just suppose to be dumb videos to make stupid jokes. Still, I've been making these Zelda videos since the inception of the channel, so I thought it would have been a bit lame to trim this one down. So, I guess I'll try to make the Uncivil Synopsis videos a bit shorter so I can release more videos, unless it's a game series I actually care about. Might just try it with one or two videos and see how that works out. In the mean time, I'm probably going to work on Wii U - Nintendrone next, since that's been sitting in the pipeline for way to long.

I dont mind the long length either. I actually enjoy hearing every single thing you have to say. If it keeps my attention (which they do) by all means please make them long if they end up being that. I even loved the dark souls undertake duo. And that video was long as hell. But It was great. If it takes only 15 minutes to say everything then that's fine. But please dont cut anything or any jokes or anything :) I'll wait months for a video if I have to

Korok seeds feel like an annoying way making the game longer than necessary. Korok seeds could have been done well, for example the game could just show you on the map all the korok seeds that you haven't collected yet, blue korok seeds mean that you have collected them and orange korok seeds mean that you haven't collected them. You could get these locations by purchasing each region full of korok seeds by Hetsu or maybe even Tingle for 10,000 rupees a map. But, you'll only be able to purchase the map if you activated the tower in that region.
@CosmicCreatorCat5 жыл бұрын
Nick K If you where a korok mask when traveling to new places, it's more or less a non-issue unless you are trying to 100% the game(just pretend the seeds don't exist, it's not worth it). Of course, that's assuming you have the DLC. Personally, I really enjoyed Korok hunting. I *always* 'needed' more room for weapons, so the fact that they'd almost always reward my exploration and searching was awesome. Maybe that's why you didn't like em, but exploration was an enjoyable time sink for me.
@shadowpheonix17513 жыл бұрын
The Korok seeds are an interesting issue with BotW. The korok seeds are a fundamental part of the game, as they’re necessary for upgrading you inventory space, which is essential for defeating some tougher foes such as Monk Maz Koshia, Golden Lynels, etc. However, they’re a very awkwardly implemented part of the experience. By the time I had found my first korok seed in Breath of the Wild, I had already done quite a bit within the game and didn’t really think much of it. The korok seeds are supposed to be another item that rewards exploration, but it almost ends up feeling like a joke when you find one. They’re purposely hidden in a subtle and obtuse manner so that you’ll only stumble upon them occasionally, but since you need more korok seeds in order to gain a slot each time, it sort of ends up feeling like you gained nothing. The korok seed puzzles also teach you nothing; in shrines, you’d often discover some sort of scenario that would lead to a deeper understanding of the game’s mechanics, but that’s simply not the case with korok seeds. They’re similar in ways to the power moons in Super Mario Odyssey; they’re a resource in a hyper inflated quantity that revolves around doing the same mundane tasks over and over. Eventually, it’s not going to be as interesting to move a magnetic block into the proper position. It’s not going to be as fun to shoot all of the balloons. It’s not going to be fun to place a random stone in a specific arbitrary gap in a circle of other stones. The novelty of collecting korok seeds will eventually wear off, and they’ll just feel like busywork. Your proposed solution would have a similar effect to Super Mario Odyssey or looking at a shrine map in my opinion; looking at a map of korok seeds only serves to give the impression that collecting korok seeds is a gargantuan chore that the player should eventually complete, not to mention it completely goes against the spirit of Breath of the Wild: discovery. I think the korok mask was a good implementation to help seed hunters, but I feel like making it DLC is incredibly fucking stupid. I think the thing about the korok seeds is that they shouldn’t really have been implemented in the first place. I think that an entirely different upgrade system should’ve been used for your inventory instead. A good comparison I can draw is the partner system in Paper Mario and the partner system in TTYD. In Paper Mario 64, partners are upgraded via super stones... I think that was their name, it’s been a while. You simply stumble across a super stone and use it as a means to immediately upgrade your partners. During chapter 5, Raphael the Raven gives the player an ultra stone, which will allow them to ultra rank their partners. It’s a system that doesn’t get in your way, but it also feels like the game is doing a lot of the work for you. Compare this to Thousand Year Door. In that game, Merlin functions as your partner upgrade system, and the only requirement is that you bring 3 shine sprites to him. These shine sprites are hidden in every corner of the world, and many of them are located in plain site. Many of them are a lot trickier to find, however. Eventually once you gain Admiral Bobbery to your party, you can use him in Hooktail Castle to locate an item that will allow you to ultra rank, with the same requirements as the super rank. This system encourages exploration and puts the control and accomplishment much more in the player’s hands. However, it is quite a bit more of a chore to do than just finding a block out in the wild and upgrading your partner. The key is to find a balance between the two. It might sound obvious, but the devs definitely need to finder that balance for the inventory upgrade system. They chose a system that encourages exploration, but couldn’t really justify the quantity of the seeds, but that’s ok. They tried, it works, and it’s not enough to make the game anything less than amazing. They have a second opportunity now, so let’s hope they don’t fuck it up again. Oh well, at least korok seed hunting was less painful than playing through Skyward Sword... also, love that profile pic. Pikmin is the fucking best

Now that I have finally beaten the game, I can give a better opinion about this game and why I consider it the best Zelda game post-Majora's Mask. First off, after how dissapointing Skyward Sword was, I started to think the Zelda series was gonna turn into a New Super Mario Bros series. Second and most of all, it broke the formula of the modern Zelda games by returning to the older ones. It has more challengues that your typical Skyward Sword and it's not so exaggeratedly short like Majora's Mask (which is still the best Zelda game, but I hate that it's so short) However, there were some flaws that I really hated like the weapon system, the few variety of enemies, the ragdoll physics, how extremely pathetic was the final boss if you decided to beat the Divine Beasts, etc. To put it bluntly, it's the best Zelda game I have ever played in years.
