Brilliant watch. Love the new end section, we’ve blasted up that many times in the dark & even snow hoping for a sunrise 🤪

How absolutely beautiful!! What a run, and they're always better with dogs around! I love "meeting" your running friends. I only have racing friends, and need to make more. I love what you said about different training working for different people. I'm extremely busy, running a farm and working 60+ hours a week, all time on feet with lifting. I absolutely love 50k races, and have found I can successfully run them with 20 miles and 1 strength and yoga session per week... but it's a case of survive, not thrive. I plan on upping my training to 25 miles and 2 strength/ yoga sessions per week to see if that moves me from the back to the middle of the pack. Good in your upcoming race!!

This was INCREDIBLE, Flora 😍 those views were just absolutely unimaginable, breathtaking. The terrain looked brutal though 😖 cannot wait to see you do your Ultra in Croatia, really rooting for you girl 💪🏻💚 Ps love seeing the abolishment of single use plastic between the pair of you, well done 👏🏻 also loved seeing all the doggo’s, too cute!

Oh I’m so jealous ! Wish I was closer to proper hills and outdoors.. Have a Snowdon marathon in July, and wish I could get there for some training runs. I have a Keswick 16 at the running festival in May, so hoping to get out and enjoy some hill runs.. last year ( it was in September due to covid delays) I did Keswick off the back of me taking some time off after a tumble whilst running down the llanberis path, Snowdon, totally trashed my quads due to lack of training runs..so hoping this year Keswick will be more enjoyable 😂 Love the running! Keep it up, good luck for your Marathon.

Ooooh snowdon will be amazing! Yes it can be tough to train without hills nearby- that's why I travel a bit now if I have the time! :) good luck with your marathon, it'll be epic!

Amazing views - and very interesting to hear about yours and Tony's different training regimes. Good to know it's about finding what works for the individual.

Chuffing 'eck, that sounded seriously windy!! But wow those views!! I really must get myself over to the Brecon Beacons for some running (once I get better at going uphill anyway!). Thanks for another great video 🙂

I know how old this video is now but having just recently walked a loop of Pen Y Fan I know how I’d do it again next time. So we parked in the main PYF car park (just up the road from where you started) and went directly up to PYF and just like how you started your run, it goes immediately uphill pretty steep straight out the car park for the whole 3km to the top. Due to the weather, we then went straight across to Corn Du and then back down the path to the main road (which is the path you came up). The thing is that when we then met the road where you parked, we still had a 1km walk back to the car park but essentially it was totally flat! So yeah, next time I’ll be parking in the same place but do the same loop in reverse meaning I’ll be having a 1km flat warm up before attacking the hill 😊

You know those programs on treadmills that let you “run the world”? Yeah, you should do one. My gyms don’t have any from GB. Adding this to my running playlist 😁

Great run Flora and the scenery is truly amazing. How do you manage steep descents with your IT band issues? I have the same problem and I hate steep descents and I know I stiffen up on them which makes the problem worse so I’m wondering if you have any tips?
@FloraBeverley2 жыл бұрын
Totally get this! I actually find descents fine unless my itb is already aggravated. Also steep rocky descents put less pressure on my knees than long grassy/roady descents or ones like the last one here because I can't go so fast. Idk I think practise makes it easier! My itb might get tight but it's rarely really sore so long as it's fine before the descent.

I'm up here most weekends. Live not far away. My tip is when you are at the car park at the bottom at Storey Arms facing Pen y fan turn around 180 degrees and go up the hills the other side. No people and grassy trails as no one goes there. And on pronunciation. In Welsh a single 'f' is a 'v' sound as there is no V in the Welsh alphabet. You only get an 'f' sound if its a double ff. So Fan is pronounced VAN. and the Welsh word 'Y' means 'the' and is pronounced 'Uh' so Pen Y Fan is pronounced "Pen Uh Van". And Fan Y Big is pronounced "Van uh Big". Was this on Saturday morning as I was up there at 7am and this was the exact conditions?
@FloraBeverley2 жыл бұрын
Nice! Yes we had a little 5k loop planned on those other hills but since we added a bit extra to the original route we decided to call it quits in the carpark. But will definitely be exploring those other hills next time! Ah yes haha I do remember those pronunciation tips! I remembered the Uh but not so much the V 😆 next time!

Is a north wind cold in Britain? In Australia a north wind is warm. Happens on a hot windy day. Not very pleasant.
@FloraBeverley2 жыл бұрын
Aha yes! Freezing usually, especially in winter. We're getting a lot of north winds atm and it's quite unusual this time of year. Makes sense that it'd be the opposite in Australia!

That final decent is soooo painful. Got to the bottom once and all my toenails where bleeding. It’s so hard not to go to quick and fall over. That little stream is the start of the river taff which runs through Cardiff city centre next to the stadium.
