Brilliant - 8.41 was Terry's hotdog stand. 9.02 is the old Story Arms hotel. Most of the cars parked around there are belonging to walkers heading up to Penyfan :-) good stuff !!!

The area you passed with all the cars was Pen y Fan. It's a lovely walk up if you have time. If you go passed Brecon next time and fancy a bite to eat try the Honey Cafe. The food is spot on. Honey Cafe, Bronllys, Brecon LD3 0LH. Look it up on Google Maps. 👍 Love your video's. 😉

Just thought I’d mention that if anyone is using this route then @ about 10:10 take the turning right and this leads to hirwain which was in MCN top ten biking roads in the uk, and an old Topgear filming location, it ends at the Penderin distillery. If you time it well you could also pop into Aberdare to see the road racing around the park. The ironworks at Blaenavon is also worth a visit if your interested in industrial history.

Thanks again TMF, I enjoyed the tour. We are having some fine weather at the moment aren't we. I've only been out in the rain once since I got my GS in March! I have in-laws in North Wales I intend to visit sometime soon, so thanks again for the vid(s). You must come up to Northumberland sometime- I'll show you round. I promise it's just as good. :-)

Very nice video, thank you. For a more intimate look at the area, watch some of Paul Henshaw's/Performance Classics videos - he goes from just off the A40 up and around the hills and lanes of this region, on a variety of vintage bikes.

Next time you come up, go from Merthyr Tydfil to Llangynidr via the Heads of the Valleys Road, one of the best mountain rides you'll get, and they filmed a lot of Top Gear on that road

DervMan Sure do - It's a great bit of kit, made a noticeable difference to performance (surprised me with that!) and has just the right amount of volume to sound meaty but not get fatiguing on a long ride....

BTW TMF how did you score the big bad ass duke in the states?, and did it feel like home when you jumped back on your GS?

Black Hawk ...it was a rental from (the appropriately named) "Rentaducati" in LA....and yes, the GS so much felt like home when I jumped back on - made me appreciate even more how good the big beemer is and I quickly forgot any notion of ever buying a Diavel, which was a novelty but really no more than that......
