I have been to Breda. Stayed at Novotel. Had dinner at Taj Mahal Restaurant. Walked around the canal and the market area. Breda looks straight out of a fairytale ! A beautiful and serene town!

My Birthplace and home town for 52 years. To many the "pearl of the south". For sure also the place I will stay until I die. Because it's situated near the Belgium border we have a lot of Belgium visitors by the way

Hey my hometown, thanks. Utrecht boasts that they have brought water back into the city, but Breda was the trendsetter ;p

Loved the video! I do have one small correction: the Grote Kerk is the largest and most recognizable church in the city, but it is not a cathedral. The cathedral in Breda is called the Sint-Antoniuskathedraal, and it stands just 200 meters away from the Grote Kerk.

Breda looks to be one of the places I would visit for a long stay. In retirement, I long for streetscapes like these, for fine bakeries and for a quality butcher's shop.
