I just bred my first batch, so easy and fun. I put a cave in a community tank to check if the male was mature enough, 24hrs later he was in there with eggs! Moved him and wrigglers to their own tank to grow out.

I just want to say a huge thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience in fish breeding. Your dedication and passion are truly inspiring! I'm new to breeding myself, and your content has been a fantastic resource to help me get started. I’d really love to connect and maybe even chat with you to learn more, especially from someone as experienced as you. It would mean a lot if you could get back to me-looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for the tips! I've gotten my pair to spawn many times but have always had trouble raising the fry. Definitely going to try crushing up the algae wafers when my pair spawns next.

I would have thought the cold water changes and frequent water changes would be an issue for the shrimp but definitely doesn’t seem that way. Nice video
@maherkamer88722 күн бұрын
It’s only a problem if the water that enters the tank comes in too fast, if you add it slowly shrimp will be fine as they have time to acclimate

I found BN easy to saturate your own market on, and growing them to 1.5-2” so they do well being moved…. That’s lots of water changes and food on a fish that sells so cheap. I’m on to try L046 and L201 as my L333 bred easily and those babies hard to sell I found.
@larsbremen71762 күн бұрын
They say that if you have a breeding rack and you keep rare plecos in the same water with the BN and they breed the pheramones helps the other more expensive to breed as wel

Great video! Interesting theory about the gut microbiome... would make a lot of sense. I had my first batch of bn babies about a month ago, and a week ago I found a big bundle of eggs that had been kicked out of the cave. I put them in a breeder box and they all hatched, babies look good. Would you try to add them back into the tank with the parents and their older siblings? Or do you think targeted feeding in a smaller tank for awhile would get them through?

they aren't showing any signs of stress all fins perfect and the colour super nice and bright. But I'll separate them and leave them for a week or two and put one with the male that's built a nest. The make is super keen and shows off extremely well under the nest.

I have 2 lemon blue eyed bristlenose plecos and the male usually makes a trip across the filter outlets and meets his girlfriend. Now i have like 150 babies and no clue what to do with them... Prolific little buggers. I wish a pleco cave was necessary but no its not haha. They just dig their own holes and egg it up

This is also a warning for the normal aquarium owner at home... NEVER EVER put a male and a female in the same tank. They WILL breed and never stop churning out babies. Even if you have no cave, they will find a place to do it. They might be basically in every tank out there and that is also the reason why you will have big problems getting rid of them. So if you dont want to breed them don't risk it ; )
