I have cherry shrimp with my Hillstream loaches and they breed fine. I might have some losses but my tank is heavily planted so wouldn't know.

I set up a 55 planted with small plants, that no longer has plants. I broke down my 48 Bowfront and put the few fish I had in the 55 of which were three bristlenose. The common type but a few days later I had over 50 fry from the bristlenose. I went back to the 48Bowfront, there was about two inches of water still and two Bristlenose fry. About 30% of the fry turned out Albino. I have bred Corydora and now Bristlenose.

If I purchase from you Nick do we get a random selection or can you request a couple of pairs ? @andystokes87024 ай бұрын
It's not many years ago that all the advice was these fish need cool water, fast flow, multiple large water changes with cooler water and will rarely eat anything apart from algae growing on the rocks. They were considered a really difficult fish to breed. It was Lucas from LRB who dispelled this by keeping them at normal fish room temperatures in a tank with no filter and hence no water movement. They bred for him without any effort on his part.
@quitlife92794 ай бұрын
This is actually amazing, if they can do well in conditions like this instead of highly specific setups it opens the door for so many possibilities to keep them.

Why are my guppies not breeding earlier when i had a bunch one female bred once and the whole colony lived but didnt breed for months i kept changing the males and females so i gave them away. I brought new different mutt pairs for breeding as they came from the shop one of them gave birth to 1 fry and that was 2 months ago. Again the same reason why arent they breeding? 10 gal tank full planted, big sponge, bug buffet (kinda) food + flake, heated, i suspected soft water so i changed to hard tap water still no luck and yeah all the basic things are ticked off idk why they act weird and dont breed? is there any secret thing im missing i dont get it

I personally dislike sponge filters in their entirety. The 1 inch air stones clog up too fast... you get very little dissolved O2 into your tank... and the filter portion is pathetic. Aqua Clear 70 and a water floss mechanism like a cartridge system that you can indefinitely extend the life of the flossing mechanism... as for air stones... 3-4" round/disc size seems to last indefinitely and introduce the proper amount of dislved O2 into the water...as opposed to the 1 inch garbage stones. Note Songe filters are only good if you have a good auto water changing system in place. Also, pleco and any bottom feeder... produce tremendous amounts of waste... top water changes leave all that junk at the bottom which is why your tanks look so dirty with debris and detridus floating everywhere... which is how Microbacterium sometimes will find its way into your fish colony and start causing some to lose color... and die off. I have seen it destroy entire colonies fo fish in a couple weeks. Once they start showing color loss... they are dead.
