Breitling Deployment Clasp Pops Open Fix

A Breitling deployment clasp will likely pop open unwillingly if it's not properly adjusted. Always take your Breitling to a Breitling authorized dealer for service but this is how I adjusted the tightness of the Breitling deployment clasp on my Breitling Super Avenger timepiece myself. It was quite simple and I actually didn't even feel the Breitling deployment clasp bending. A lot goes a long way but now my Breitling deployment clasp no longer pops open unwillingly. I was on the verge of taking my newly purchase deployant clasp back to the dealer as it kept popping open when I flexed my wrist. It was so annoying and happened again today. Out of desperation I googled the problem and came upon this video. Thank you soo much for posting this tip. Problem solved and I now have a super secure and comfortable strap

Good job mate. May have been helpful to say which actual way to bend it to make it tighter (to avoid un-necessarily overbending the centre clasp bar) ... all good though... worked it out... Straighten slightly to make the clasp grip firmer, and not pop so easily. thanks mate. Incidently… it’s a “deployant”.. not “deployment”

Dude. Thanks so much. I had this problem on another watch I have and I was using one of my tools to actually mess with the other end of the clasp where it snaps in. Luckily, I didn't damage it. I am glad you posted this because it was a breeze and took less than a minute to fix the issue on another one I just got. Kudos!!! =-)

how hard should it be to open the watch again after the fix? it doesn't come off that easily but its slightly hard to take it off. It that normal for watches? or will that damage to clasp

Mine opens with minimal efforts but requires enough force so that it hasn’t opened unexpectedly during daily wear.

What would you recommend for a starter watch?

satirekings That's a very broad question and is a matter of personal budget and what you intend to do with the piece. If I could only have one piece, I would save up for an Omega SeaMaster 300m. It's a timeless model that is built like a tank. It can be worn while swimming, in the office, etc. Sure, quality watches are expensive but you'd come out better in my opinion to wait and save up for one quality starter piece, vs. buying multiple pieces of junk. I feel that Omega is the perfect piece because it doesn't have the "is that a Rolex?" stigma associated with it and it'll likely never go out of style. The Omega Seamaster 300m was my first "real" watch and I still wear it as well as my Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control, Rolex Sub 114060 and Breitling Super Avenger. I plan to add more quality pieces in the future but have already started to build a quality collection. My best advice is to not be sold by magazine and other types of advertisements. Stick to the popular Omega, Rolex, Breitling, Jaeger LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantine or Patek Philipe brands and you'll likely be fine.

VOLTAIRE CAO Yeah, this is the original Breitling deployment buckle that I got from the Breitling AD in St. Thomas. Chrono 24 or Ebay may be a good place to find one. Remember, you don't even want to see it start to bend, make sure you bend in somewhat an inadequate manner! But why are you wearing it at the wrong place, just because it's called a wristwatch it doesn't mean they're supposed to be warn like that above the wrist?
