Breitling Super Avenger 2 - A Luxury $5,000 Watch Review

I’ve got this exact same watch purchased in 2014 and worn daily. I love it and it has a strong classy presence on your wrist.

You can compare an ETA with paint....it's all about the artist. Van Gogh and Rembrandt used to same kind of paint other painters used...yet their paintings are worth millions. In short, it's not about ETA but which company modified and fine tuned it. And believe me. Breitling ETAs are nothing like those in cheaper watches. Sure 4k might be high for a watch with an ETA inside but they are so well modified and fine tuned you cant compare them anymore. Also, the case, bracelet, dial and fit and finish of Breitling are among the best. They truly are stunning watches and above all, build like a tank. As a former collector I've owned pretty much all brands, from Iwc to Zenith to Tudor to Rolex to Omega to you name it. But one of my all time favorite brands will be always Breitling. They give the wearer a certain feel of confidence which other more expensive watches don't give you. Really solid watches. With an aura of cool.

I'm just now getting into breitling after owning other watches and knowing about breitling for years. I think breitling make nice chronograph watches and appealing to the naked eye.

I have the black face which kinda looks blue in certain lights, with black rubber strap. Usually don’t like watches with straps, but I love mine. Not too big at all.

I’ve had mine for 2 years now. Just because the trend is smaller watches doesn’t mean its for everyone. Having an 8 inch wrist 39mm looks like a kids watch on my wrist. Guys with small wrists feel like they need to bash big watches because they can’t pull them off. The Super Avenger is a beast and is an amazing combination of mass and mechanics. Its what a luxury watch should feel like, a bank vault on your wrist!💪🏽

The movement is a COSC certified 7750. well not an in-house one but it works well and you can pick up that beasts for about 3,8K new grey. Having no issue with the bracelet but feel similar about the clasp there, especially Breitling shows they can do better with their falding clasps for the rubber strap. One point about the bezel screws: they actually hold the bezel in place. That’s why I do like Breitling as this makes it very easy to exchange the bezel, if you like.

I picked up mine in 2005 a blue face Super Avenger,built like a tank,not to large on the wrist and it keeps great time despite not being serviced since being purchased.I still get great pleasure from wearing it.

B-13, Valjoux 7750 mod and Chronometre calibrated is kind of high end tho’. I have a Black one snd it’s really durable and keept time supergood! It’s a beast, but it makes me wear it more ofthen than my Le Locle Chronometre (ver 1).

I have a SA 2 and have put it in for repair as the screw down crown stopped screwing down. Lucky I had 5 days left of the warranty. I put it in on 28 Oct and will be getting it back late Jan. Its a great watch and wears smaller with a rubber band.

Hi, i know its been 2 years since you service your watch, do you have any other problems after that? And the breitling service centre want to charge me $2500, they said i need to change the movement too!! 😳

Breitling, unlike a Rolex or Omega for example, secure the bezel with screws. It’s a captive bezel making it very secure. Sinn is the other brand I know that uses captive bezels.

I had one and loved it for years. I eventually bought a two tone sub and planned on using both. Sadly the Breitling sat there for almost 2 years unworn and I finally sold it. Some days I miss it but then I take a look at my Datejust and Sub and quickly forget.😄

Great watch case and movement, but I hate the polish and pretentious bracelet design, it’s just too much. Theres no need to bling up with high polish finish, the big bold tank like build of the case is more than enough presence , both practically and aesthetically.

When I was child I had Casio with something similar pips on bezel. It was nightmare to wear it with sweater. It stucked allways between yarns. And this is 5000usd watch with same unlogical things...
