Red cedar fabric with white thread - do an MFE. Brenda - when I was young we had a Heinz 57 dog who was a really good mouser - his name was Pootzie.

OMG, the mouse story - EEEWWWW!! Laura, I am with you, I would have freaked out!!! And it just so happens the other day, we had a mouse in our main living area and bathroom (picture a small house) in which my Siamese had cornered, my male cat was standing by and my dog was also involved. Somehow, the mouse has disappeared, I am sure my Siamese got it and my male cat killed it. I am currently binge watching your videos. You both inspire me to stitch all the things!!! I just got back into stitching a year ago after 30+ years. I am an Aida stitcher (I do own some linen and I have tried it) but I prefer Aida (the over 2 is what gets my brain).

OMG - the mouse story!! I have to tell you that I left a project at my office in my desk drawer once and the mouse ate some of the silk thread!!! It was a fully kitted project that I had just started and when I was going to work on it again one day I saw evidence of a mouse and some of the silk thread was gone about half way up the skein. Yuck - I had to throw that project away.😢

Even though I live in SC, it has been two dog night's lately. When it is chilly, both Winston and Stryker get so close to my feet and knees and curl up to sleep. So comfy and warm. You all are so wonderful to spend your time spreading joy to us on a regular basis. I love all the floss tubes and like many below me in the comments or many above me I too watch the floss tube multiple times with many pauses to look up people or shops to add them to my list of suppliers. I do have to ask you Brenda - the Dolls and their girls pin cushion I am not aware of, could you clue me in? And I will pass on some fun information to you. The Twelve Days of Christmas are not days leading up to the 25th of December but the days from December 25 until the Epiphany when the Wisemen came to give their gifts to the baby Jesus. Also where we get the play the 12th night from Shakespeare. It starts on December 26th usually marked as the Feast of St. Stephen. The 12th day is the 6th of January when the Magi came to Bethlehem. This was considered the last day of the Christmas celebrations and when most children went back to school and when it was okay to take down the Holiday decorations. So, when most of us think Christmas is over on the 25th and are kind so sad to see it go, be thankful that you actually have 12 more days of feasting and merrymaking to get on with and enjoy the season that is Christmas in a little less stressful anxiety.

Another mouse story here. We live in a rural area, in the midst of wheat/grain fields….SO a few years ago after I bought my Halo lamp, I proudly sewed a drawstring bag with a boxed bottom out of the cutest cat fabric. I was so proud…until one day I went to my shelves to pack my stitching bag….and a MOUSE had crawled inside my beautiful bag and chewed little holes!! Grrrrr

Many years ago, we had a mouse. My cat cornered it and I ran over, not sure if the mouse would (foolishly) attack since it was cornered. And I saw a spot of blood on its shoulder and how terrified it was and it broke my heart. So I grabbed an empty veggie can from the trash, caught the mouse who was paralyzed with fear and took it with me to pick my husband up from work. I let him out in a grassy area near the building. What a great way to start the day. I always get a smile on my face when I see that you have a new video out.

Hi Brenda and Laura! Laura, in regards to your Kintbury school sampler, Kintbury is a civil parish in the county of Berkshire in England (not too far from London). St Mary’s School (associated with St Mary’s church in Kintbury) was founded in 1831 and I believe still exists today. It was and is a primary (or grade school as we would call it in the US) school for younger children. ❤️🇬🇧

What a wonderful treat it is to watch/visit with both of you!!! I don't even know where to begin commenting except to say Prairie Schooler just melts my heart - so many memories wrapped up in my PS Santas especially. Thank you for making me think of every mouse story I have!!! The most recent one occurred when we first moved to this house and it had sat empty for six months. One of our former cats, Elsie, was a great mouser and loved to bring us gifts (usually by the door in the kitchen). One night she brought a present to me in bed. I didn't know she had a gift for me and in my sleep, just automatically reached out to pet her and the mouse bit my finger!!! I was scared for ages afterwards that she would bring another gift to bed for me!!!! Thanks as always ladies for another fabulous video. Take care and happy stitching!

FQS had a 20% off site wide sale and I scored some Fox and Rabbit 32 count Duxbury and Mayflower - a yard of each on sale! This is my first F&R fabric and I am excited to stitch on it. Your mouse story reminds me I need to set my traps in the garage. I have these traps that don't bam the mouse so hard there is blood. I have bigger ones for the chipmunks. There are several outdoor cats in the neighborhood that catch a lot of the mice and chipmunks, but they can't get them all. I still haven't gotten use to tossing the dead ones. Do you want to hear about the issues I had with bats? 🤣🤣 Hopefully the mice you had found someplace else to live.

Oh say, you two just make my day! I love watching you both and getting such great inspiration for new projects! I love all your beautiful finishes! The world is a better place because of the two of you! Happy stitching! BTW I feel the same about mice! A long, long time ago, I let my young daughter have two mice as she was begging me. I told her they had to be the same sex so we wouldn't have baby mice. Well, we got two females, Gracie and Cow ( named by my daughter). Not too long after we got them, my daughter came running to me saying Cow had babies! Guess Cow was in a motherly way when we got her! Well, those babies had babies and on and on. My husband decided the stink and mess they made was too much , so set them free at a piece of property his dad owned. Why did I ever think it was okay to have mice as pets???

It was so...I guess comforting in a way to hear you both talk about mice issues. Nice to know I'm not alone. I ABSOLUTELY HATE MICE!!! My family makes fun of me because I have sticky boards in more than one place & I regularly put out poison. I would rather smell a dead mouse than come across a live one. Mice in my stitchy stuff would give me the willys! I hope they're gone. Brenda, I did not attend the Jingle Ball either - I have so much I truly want to stitch that I decided it was in my best interest to put on the blinders! Also, tell people not to be afraid of 40ct and needing a magnifier. Most of the time I am fine with 40ct with my bifocals - but the good light is critical. Getting used the "weave" of linen or even weave first, then try the higher counts - have a magnifier handy because if you do need, you need it - if you find you don't, you're good to go!

Mice, eek! I have heard that the smell of peppermint keeps them away. I bought a spray bottle of Mighty Mint Rodent Repellent from Amazon. Haven't had to use it yet, but I am prepared. Great video. Thanks
