Their hits included “Nasty Girl” and “Sex Shooter,” and she also can be heard on Prince’s “17 Days.” Having sung lead on songs like “Blue Limousine,” “Bite the Beat,” “Some Kind of Lover” and “A Million Miles,” as a member of those groups she also toured with Prince and appeared in the movie “Purple Rain.”
Prior to Prince, she was a member of the band Ken Lyon and Tombstone and performed on concert bills with Mott the Hoople and Queen. She is a two-time inductee of the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, and continues to release her own music.

At the 40th anniversary celebration of Purple Rain At Paisley Park, Apollonia 6 should've reunited and had The Time be their backing band. No lingerie needed. Just beautiful outfits. Minimal choreography. Just the three singing the best of Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6. Brenda could've sung every lead vocal track she did, Susan could've sung her leads and Apollonia could've done her and Vanity's leads. Would've been amazing, legendary and much needed for the fans and to further the legacies of Apollonia 6 and Prince.

Brenda has the best voice in both Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6. She looks So fantastic and I love her beret! ... Im personally think she looks better now than in the Vanity6 / Apollonia 6 days

Great interview! Can't wait for part 2! Love Brenda and Susan - my favorites from Apollonia 6. Once Vanity split, they carried that group. Brenda has a lovely and distinctive voice. Blue Limousine, Some Kind of Lover, and A Million Miles (I Love You) are my favorite songs from the 2nd LP!!!

Synesthesia is seeing colors in music... First saw that word in a track off Latin Jazz -Funk Band "Caldera"'s debut album in 1976... My favorite track of theirs by the way Didn't know what the term meant until I watched an episode of Empire...lol Demi Moore was playing Terence Howard's personal nurse and she explained it..

Brenda was the truth her voice and vibe was cool. That freestyle when a girl answers dont hang up was cool back then i mean that woodsy stevie nicks, pat benetar, bonnie tyler, bonnie raitt, kim carnes yet smoothed out joni Mitchell meets Diane schuur thing is felt. Her story and memories are real. The john lennon tragedy and her meeting prince that was something. Dug her Beret and vibe. She always was cool folks
