If you still have makeup on in the toner stage, it either means your cleanser is not working or you are not cleansing properly. Maybe spend a few more seconds cleansing and see what happens. Also, during the oil cleanse, soak the facial cotton with the cleanser and then let it sit on your eyes for a few seconds. It will loosen up the makeup and make it easier to remove.

@@spm4391 I used the St Ives apricot scrub for years. Just once a week and *never* on active acne, like you said. My skin still looks great (sorry to toot my own horn, but it's true). I have moved on to exfoliating acids, though. Still, if I'm in a pinch, St Ives will do me just dandy 💖

If there is still makeup after double cleanse, you need new products or need to cleanse properly. Toner isn’t supposed to act as an extra step to cleanse, it’s a skin balancer with added skincare benefits (to provide but also prepare the skin for the next products).
