Wow, this one spoke to me man. As a bike technician of almost 30 years, unfortunately I know how the stars have to align for you NOT to have mechanical issues on these fantastic machines. I often wish I had no idea how many gears turn, springs and discs hold pressure, o-ring and seals seal, valves and rings seat and just how many working parts have to be in perfect order for them to not fail. I have had some really good luck out of my bikes, but I've had to walk a time or two for sure. Thanks Brent, these are some of the best videos on KZbin currently if you ask me.

@brentbat on another different note, we are heading out late this summer all the way to the Idaho backcountry (we are on the east coast in SC) to do some of the Tour of Idaho t1 and t3 trails. Starting in the Sawtooths and headed north til we run out of time and hopefully take the bdr back south. Watching content like yours has really made me want to see some of the world and document it. I really appreciate you taking the time to do these videos man!

@@PSBEadventures Sounds like you have an amazing adventure ahead of you. I rode the Idaho BDR several years ago and it was amazing. I never knew Idaho had such stunning landscapes. What sort of bikes are you doing this on? Are you moto camping or staying in hotels?

@brentbat saw your video on it! A good friend of mine lives in southern Idaho. He told me about 20 years ago he could go out of his backyard and ride single and double track dirt to Canada. I've wanted to ride it ever since. My riding buddy and I are going to his place, scoop him and his son up, and we are gonna camp off the bikes! He rides a Honda Trail 90, his son a crf150, and Koty and I will be on our tw200s! We mainly ride Suzuki DRs but wanted to take the little bikes on this one.

Sorry the bike cut your trip short but looks like you still had a great time. A great video and thank you for all the details. We’re planning a trip opposite direction to Cameron’s corner. Then down to Flinders. You have given us more details on places to see, accomodation and fuel is my main worry. Awesome video. Safe riding

Thank you Brent for bring us another one of your great adventures. Watching this episode gives me the chills I've got exactly the same bike, model even down to the colour as HD and apart for the weight and sheer size of the Rhino it's a super comfortable and fantastic touring machine but I'm often worried about any part of the technology and complexity of today's modern bikes and worse in the Beemers where something as small as a side stand switch would see the bike on a truck or trailer With today I'm riding more off-road and often think about owning another DR650 basic technology simple fix and the adventure can continue on in most cases.

The old story Brent, if you're with the right people, sharing doubles the enjoyment. I've run out of surperlatives when describing that country and thoroughly enjoyed the video as usual. I had the same ending with my South Island trip March this year. Instead of taking the Africa Twin I started a new series using a new CRF 300 Rally with the best suspension etc and a pair of solid walking sneakers. I was doing the remote adventure thing where Blacky my AT dare not go. Being solo I had to be prepared to walk 30 or 40 kilometres if the worst case senario should arrive. The bike had only completed 6000 kms of careful running and good maintenance when the piston got destroyed taking the cylinder with it. Unlike you guys the upshot was I pulled up to a stop (in the country side) oppisite a house owned by a mature motorcycle enthusiast with an awesome w/shop. The flight back up to the Nth Island, then having the bike couried up was only the begining of expenses. I look forward to doing it all again, starting from where the bike terminated next Mch. Cheers Darryl

Bad luck with the tyre, but I think you dodged a bullet there. Mt Gill is NOT the place to take a big adventure bike. I’m sure some could do it, but I wouldn’t.
