"Divine knowledge" doesn't bring us closer to Jehovah so much as that being the very result of trusting in Him. Gen 15:6 makes it clear that faith is the very foundation of this relationship, that faith is what brings us closer to Jehovah... and thus, conversely, no amount of knowledge or action that does not come from faith will ever bring us closer to Him.
