@captain scentsible39 He knew the kick was coming, but wrestlers don't punch or kick each other full blast in the head. A well-trained wrestler will know how to control the force they use. Goldberg kicked him so hard he couldn't use his hand to block it. Keep in mind, Goldberg wasn't just a normal guy. He was a fucking monster with freakishly strong legs who had MMA training.

But he has a whiny personality by nature. Its far from just his brother's death. I mean he still bitches about Hogan and 1993 to this very day. The problem with that is that he NEVER complained about that until the 2010's, when he officially buried the hatchet with HBK and Vince. Nor did he ever criticize Goldberg in the 2000's. Plainly stating he "didnt blame" Goldberg. Once HBK and Vince were past news, he immediately publicly turned on Hogan and Goldberg......whereas he spoke well of both of them while he trashed HBK and Vince. It just shows that he has a toxic personality by nature, and HAS to have people hes continually bashing. If its not one, its another.

To this day, I still say that the name Bret Hart is synonymous with the word legend. For anyone who’s saying that he’s coming off as being bitter, then I’d say, how about putting yourself in his shoes? Would you be happy as a clam if you had a concussion, or better yet a stroke? None of them are something to be taken lightly-they’re serious health conditions. I’ve watched Bret many times in live events and have met him personally. He’s never given me the impression of being stand-offish or full of himself and he proved to be a hard worker. He also shows sincere appreciation for his fans. I have the utmost respect for Bret not only as a wrestler, but also for the man he is.

I agree with you. I too can listen to Bret talk for hours. He definitely has a no-nonsense approach to what he says. If there was any bitterness at the time, I think there was definitely good reason for it-concussions aren’t something to be taken lightly. Sadly, who knew that Bret would have that stroke? Yet he’s a fighter and a survivor and he’s lived through so much to tell it all.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is my favourite wrestler ever and like Bret Hart I believe in the ring Dynamite Kid was pound for pound the best wrestler ever and his matches against Tiger Mask in 82 and 83 were absolutely amazing. But my favourite match is Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13 with the double turn was great and is certainly the best WrestleMania match after Undertaker Vs Giant Gonzales at WrestleMania 9 (only joking that was the worst WrestleMania match). Even though the Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25 and 26 were good and many fans’s favourite match either 25 or 26 as some fans a split on which was the best for me the Austin Vs Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13 was the best.

Sometimes I wonder with Bret. With his loyalty to Vince and Vince's clear leadership.....I wonder if that environment allowed him to excel, because Bret could outwork anyone for his boss's approval. But with Bischoff, almost seemed like he expected talent to step up and create storylines and do their own thing, and Bret was probably just lost without strong direction. Also he probably used up all his loyalty efforts in WWF

Hulk was right not to pas the torch to Brett, for this era and it’s fans Brett wasn’t the man, he just wasn’t a big enough star to put the strap on….. To blame his stroke on a concussion wasn’t quite fair. He worked after that, Goldberg gets the heat for it but years of abuse certainly played their part in Brett ending up like he did. His tantrum after Montreal was ridiculous and showed Brett as a ridiculous clown who really should’ve done the job in the first place, to come out publicly telling people that he didn’t really lose and to kill kayfabe was so stupid of him, he actually admits he didn’t actually win anything either! That how stupid he is, “I was supposed to win and Vince screwed me!”…… what a moron, vince helped make him and without Vince he would probably died in a van crash driving through the mountains of Canada performing in bars and school gyms in the arm pit of nowhere! He never had the charisma to be the top guy, it’s as simple as that, and belive me he was never even half as popular as bulldog was in the uk either, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wrestler so full of himself who actually believes he was a real champion and his own catch phrase.

McMahon paid him to do it and gave him a heads up that he'd be buying the WCW soon & promised him there would always be a spot for him in the WWF whenever he needed a payday. Everybody who ever crossed Vince ended up dead or with something bad happening to them. Vince knew that putting Bret out of action would kill him more than just taking him straight out. After taking Owen out he realised it didn't destroy Bret as much as he thought it would hence him saying it was "like looking into the eyes of a skeleton" not because he was feeling bad for Owen but he felt bad that it didn't affect Bret the way he'd hoped it would.

For real, why do you have any opinions about how he should feel now about the guy who caused him an extremely serious injury? WCW should really take some of the blame too btw. His BRAIN was damaged, not his knee or shoulder. Three concussions in that match. It ended his career, then caused the stroke two years after this interview. At this point (2000) he’d lost his career, lost an absolute fuck ton of money but seems relatively happy considering all that -probably thought the worst was over. Seems post-stroke his feelings changed and he can be as pissed off or as not pissed off as he wants to be! Fuck Goldberg, he couldn’t fucking wrestle and didn’t give a single flying fuck about wrestling. Or wrestlers. The change in his feelings could literally be symptoms caused by the stroke. I’m guessing but I’d imagine he might worry about CTE sometimes too because it’s a definite possibility.

Bret always changes his stories and stances on people & things all the time. every interview is slightly different. In one Bischoff treated him well and the next he was an asshole or Hogan didn't do anything bad to him or was involved much in his situation then in the next Hogan actively went out his way to stiffle him. or Goldberg shouldn't take any blame it wasn't his fault then it was his fault & was negligent. Or in the WWF he just did his job, did everything Vince asked of him then it was himself who came up with all of his stuff & Vince just said do whatever u want. sometimes even in the same interview he will say 2 opposing things. it's very difficult to discern what the actual truth is or what his actual genuine opinion about something is.
