You know I had to be out of town when this took place. Actually went up to Jersey to see some old friends and did score some pretty good waves up there. At least your videos get to show me what I was missing. Pretty epic level of Surfing going on here. This is the kind of swell I wish somebody like Jamie O could experience on the East Coast. Pretty sure some of those Hawaiian boys would give you guys props for your level of tube riding. Phenomenal job in and out of the water. @Brett Barley it looks like your set up sideways paddling into it. The first time i saw it I had to rewind it a few times like what the hell. Is he paddling into it parallel with the wave. Yeah that was sick. I haven't been back to the banks in 5 years now. Miss it but it's a haul from Charlotte. I used to go and stay for a month every year since I was a little nipper. Last time was for a wedding in Duck. Love to watch the east coast videos.

@Brett Barley That's the plan I spent 7 years in special forces got out 2013 with a couple of back surgeries medically discharged got medically discharged got married now my wife shacked up with a guy for 2 and a 1/2 years stole 40000 from me and now she wants a $100000 from me in a divorce divorce. Doesn't plan us to either move to the beach or buy a boat and parke that sucker off of some island and surf out the rest of my days.. cause I'm done with this crap. I'm pretty much spend every night watching videos of surfing all over the world. You guys have the greatest job that there is. 2nd to none. That's a bold statement coming from me because I loved being in special forces.. So keep up the work man love watching your videos especially from pretty much growing up from that area..RLTW 3/75.

You know why people flock to you, right? Three reasons: 1.) They think you know something they don't. 2.) They know you rip, and lesser surfers want to be around rippers because they think it'll rub off on them. 3.) They know there's a strong likelihood you're filming, and they're hoping to be an anonymous ripper who somehow makes the final cut.

1 and 3 are very likely true. But it doesn’t just happen to me… I’ve had random guys share similar stories with me. Pull over alone, find a random peak, and by the time they are changing 2-4 cars have already pulled up with them. They paddle out and even more guys show up. It’s a disease in the area I guess😂 -

@@brettbarley Not just in the area: I lived at Ocean Beach in San Francisco for many years, and it's basically 4 miles of straight beach. More than half the year is crap wind, but I surfed every day anyway. There would be many, many days when it was crappy that the entire beach was empty. So, I'd paddled out on these crappy days at whatever peak I chose, and almost every single time I 'd have 10 people within 50 yards to my left and right. The entire beach would still be empty, except for me and my 20 friends. Oh well, at least I wasn't lonely. ;-)

Im from socal and had to relocate to Louisiana found great surf during before and after a storm and those guys all huddled together and get out for cigarettes breaks and i always attempted to surf away from them hazards they'll see me down the beach smashing a few and they just would migrate some of the guys where great surfers and the rest generally had good etiquette southern kids are actually nice people a hell of a lot nicer than grumpy overcrowded spoiled and bitter socal entitled fuks we allowed to developr so i dont even know what im talking about-face i had to check out for a bit due to my mental health has been triggered buy some unforseen hiccups I've had to endure anyways thanks brett for the consistant flow of vlogs you make my days better than the days without watching you live your life

I KNEW it was E Coast. What STATE ? I have caught Epic Waves @ Pump House ( N, Palm beach ) Fla. with Seas 16 to 18' + & a spot just N/ of there. 100% Reef bottom ( That spot goes from 60' + deep to 1' deep & Pitching hardcore & of course will grind you to Death ! But these conditions are RARE now... Cat 4 or 5 Hurricanes 100+ miles N are ideal. Or the now Rare for some reason... Strong "Northeaster" like most worthwhile surf spots, the bottom is Soo Important ! ( When you can, DIVE the spot ) you will learn how it WORKS... or doesn't.
