Good call on Phillips! Jaelan has gone on to break the rookie Dolphin record, statistically outplaying Jason Taylor. You should do an update video on Jaelan Phillips reflecting on some of the things you pointed out in his historic season this year for Miami. We are all excited here to have him, he is a lot of fun to watch. Especially coupled with Ogbah, Butler, and Wilkins.
@paintcandan59723 жыл бұрын
and now he’s a dolphin! finally some elite talent on the d-line in miami. i hope he goes crazy this year.
@ronugo19973 жыл бұрын
My dude A. He’s going to be OLB most likely while Ogbah plays DE B. Davis made the all rookie team at DT and Wilkins is a another elite DT talent we’ve had talent on the line. This is much need natural pass rushing talent though
@wisewolftony3 жыл бұрын
@@ronugo1997 Yea that D-line is gonna have a shit ton of talent on. Davis last season was one of the most impressive players I thought for the team. Seems like a big steal at this point when everyone was saying the Dolphins reached on him in the draft. But he was a beast in the run game and did a good job at getting pressure on QB's as well. I also didn't realize just how fucking big the guy is he makes other big dudes look small. Wilkins had been great since we drafted him and is great looker room guy as well for his personality and the energy he brings. Always brings a smile to my face seeing him run from the sideline to the endzone to celebrate any time we score a TD. I know he also has to get down their cause he's on the FG unit but still none of the other guys on that unit are sprinting to the endzone to celebrate with the man who scored the TD. Ogbah was great last year kind of cooled off at the end but I think he was seeing a lot of double teams because we didn't have another true pass rusher on the other end. And then they still have guys like Van Ginkel who was great last season. And brought back Biegel who had a good 2019 season before his injury last year. Adding Phillips should improve the one area where this defense was actually bad at last season which was that they gave up a shit ton of yards after the catch last season. In fact they ranked dead last in the NFL in that area. And the reason why that was had almost everything to do with the fact that we only had one upper level pass rusher in Ogbah so for Miami to generate constant pressure they had to send blitz after blitz after blitz. Think he blitz either more then any other team in the league or at the very least were top 3 in blitzing. Which meant when you blitz that much your leaving the middle of the field wide open and leaving all your DB on a island. Which usually meant any time a time completed a pass if the DB on them didn't make the tackle or couldn't make that the opposing pass catchers would have nothing but open field in front of them to pick up yards of the catch.

This whole offseason, I’ve been trying to figure out who ED1 was in this class. I went from Rousseau, to Paye, and to Ojulari, a personal favorite of mine. But after watching this video and seeing you break him down, I’ve got to him as my ED1. He showed why he was the No. 1 overall recruit coming out of high school (Chase Young was in the same class btw). If he hadn’t gotten unlucky with those concussions then he probably would’ve been the consensus ED1. He’s phenomenal. If the Giants get Golladay or if the top 3 receivers are gone (4 if you include Pitts), they need to draft Phillips.
@El_Bukis3 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, the concern with his concussion history is that he already retired once because he was concerned about the long term effect on his health from his concussion history. So, teams are concerned he might pull a Chris Borland. But that's likely gonna result in him falling into the late rounds, at which point you should use the pick him.

Did you watch the video? 😂 Every player has injury concerns. Look at a guy like Myles Jack or Jaylon Smith who should’ve both been too 15 picks in 2016. Instead Dallas and Jaxonville got them in the 2nd round because of their “injury concerns.” Neither one of them has had a major injury since entering the league and are both all pro caliber off-ball lb’s. Guys like Burrow, Watson, Luck, Wentz, Watt, Clowney, Bosa, etc. never got hurt in college but have since become injury concerns in the NFL. That’s why it’s dumbe to pass on a player who you know is better for a player who might be on the field more.

Thanks for the drink recipe Brett. I just bought the smoke topper and I'm enjoying the drink right now while I enjoy the video of the beast of a stud the Dolphins acquired. I saw a video of his highlights in one of the pre-season games and I was expecting to see multiple sacks and hurries of the opposing QB. The video seemed very vanilla to me and I found myself nervous. Did the Dolphins make the right choice? Will Phillips be a bust? ! I then realized, I really know shit about football. After reading the comments to see what I was missing, the light came on and I experienced an epiphany of sorts.. Hold on while I take another sip of this delicious cocktail before continuing. Ok, Im back. What dawned on me was what I didn't see during the film. I didn't see the edge protection I was blinded by desire to see sacks and chases and I lost sight of the whole picture. Shame on me! Nothing, I mean nothing got outside on this guy. Either the opposing teams offense ran the ball to the opposite side of Phillips, or he channeled the play to the inside where the RB was met with destruction. He had a couple hurries, a couple near sacks, and he chased down a bunch of plays coming real close to solo tackles. Im really excited to see his future play with the first team defense, especially with my new found insight. Go Phins!
