Dear Brett, I believe I have never before left a comment on a KZbin video, but after doing this class I just had to. I litterally didn't know what to do anymore, because I have felt so full of pent-up energy, pain, sadness and anger for the past few weeks and I wasn't able to find a way to release it before. Just when I didn't know what to do anymore because the tension was only rising I got your email and I intuitively immediately rolled out my mat and started the class. It was incredible how big the effect was. SO many stored emotions came out, and I am so thankful that you were able to help me create a space in which I apparently felt safe enough to do that and to also give me guidance on how to do it. I know my fair share of tools to regulate the nervous system, but this time I just needed some help, thank you for being there

honored that you felt safe enough to let go and release here. allow yourself to cry, feel and let all those emotions OUT. come back to this. I do a practice like this regularly and almost daily if I am sad or depleted. sending love

@@BrettLarkinYoga Thanks so much for your kind comment Brett😘. I just did the class again this morning and again it really helped me so much. I indeed plan on doing it multiple times a week to see what it will bring me, I can really imagine it being so beneficial in my process. Thank you again for bringing these kinds of classes to us ❤️ I really deeply appreciate it.

Another incredible session. By far the best guidance with somatic exercise I have ever experienced. From the movement, to the calm in Brett's voice, the music, everything is top notch and well put together. I will be coming back to this routine periodically. Love it. Mahalo 🙏

I have been processing trauma through EMDR the past few months, in addition to meditation, plant medicine, breath work, and yoga. It’s been especially hard the last few weeks, getting to the deepest roots. But doing a gentle yin flow or somatic release at night after my son goes to bed is literally keeping me together. Knowing that I have this time to myself in order to cry and express my anger healthily has been life-changing in my day-to-day. When I want to dissociate more than ever, I remind myself why I want to be present in my life, and then I can put my pain on the shelf until it’s time to process. Thank you, it’s you and healers like you that are providing the space for us to be powerful again.

Did this practice yesterday, and for the first time I felt safe in my own body. I didn’t realize I wasn’t feeling safe in my body until during this somatic practice. I feel so much at peace, comfortable and relaxed. Thank you so much Brett.

I have been walking around with heavy grief and literally didn’t know where to put it. I have been pacing the house somehow trying to release what feels like an impossible amount of sorrow. Thank you for sharing this. I now know I can take some time daily to safely and effectively relieve the heaviness.

Thank you for this class, Brett. It’s very helpful to get through the protective emotional numbness that accompanies trauma and makes you feel like you are no longer alive or connected to other people. I’m Ukrainian and have been going through daily tragedies in my homeland. Thank you ♥️

Videos like this create a space for people to go to heal from trauma. I know I need this space. I am struggling to remember and think clearly at 32. I believe it is my stress levels. It's like my life is on hold because I can't think clearly enough. I am excited and truly grateful for this resource you provide. I will continue to seek healing.

This is exactly what i needed. I'm trying to heal from a decade of ignoring what my body was telling me, pushing my mind and body too far. I treated myself so poorly that i developed Grave's Disease (hyperthyroidism), likely from stress, and i had to have a thyroidectomy. While i feel better than before i started taking care of myself, i still struggle with listening to my body, and unknowingly holding anxiety in my gut. Ill definitely be coming back to this class frequently to remind my body to relax and release these pent up emotions, thank you!!

I've rededicated myself to my yoga practice recently but have found that when I start to make real progress I take two step backwards because I begin dealing with some surfacing trauma or anxiety. I listened to your most recent podcast episode and immediately came here; this is exactly what I needed. It helped me clear my mind enough to understand why this keeps happening to me and additionally helped me feel safe in postures that had previously triggered fear.

Thankyou so much for this practise! I really loved the soothing beginning. I notice that very often, as soon as I start to introduce movement, I lose connection: I move into 'doing' mode and I am not really feeling the movements or my body anymore. So I guess it will be good to slow down even more and start smaller than I do now. Thanks again for sharing these somatic practises, they are very helpful! I am currently facing trauma that is not even mine, but a lot stored from my ancestors in my body. And I feel like I want 'to get rid of it'. But that is not how it works.. I find it hard to accept that it is there, so that is the first place to start..It feels like it is put in my body, it is not mine but now I have to deal with it. It feels unfair... I know it is relevant for me to feel it otherwise I would not have it present in my consciousness. But still it feels like 'I have to take care of their shit'. I tried giving it back etcetc. But something always remains. I guess that is my part to solve. The willingness to accept and work with it is growing as I am writing this. I am willing to do my part as well and to free myself and them and next generations. Any recommendations for these kind of feelings?
