I currently live and work in a developing country, so good coffee is hard to come by. I'm definitely gonna have to look into this on my next trip home to the states. One thing I would suggest is to have your hiking partner to bring a second container to serve it in, French press coffee overextracts and turns bitter if it sits in the press

That looks great! Looks relatively easy to clean, too. We currently use a Bodum press, but it's kind of a pain to clean when camping. My wife & I just had a serious discussion about (gasp) switching to instant coffee! This looks like a good alternative!

Chris Con ya! Way better then instant and fast cleaning

that's a Cool way to always have fresh Coffee. I have a Starbucks French Press cup and it took awhile to get the grounds right too, in some ways that's simpler to use. Great Video.

Hummm, I'll need to think about this one. The Contigo west Loop auto seal travel mug is the only one I'll use in the car, period. Besides, the screen and rod assembly from a Bodum french press will fit a Stanley Adventure cook set. You can pick up needed parts from the thrift store or Ebay for $10-15, especially if the glass was broken!

French press coffee is pretty good, just need to get the grinds the correct size. When camping I prefer percolated coffee. If your hiking and trying to go light pour over coffee is good to.

Got one a couple of years ago, not the lightest but works on the drive or car camping. Titanium cup and filter work better for backpacking. I like it.

I love mine a lot- it's almost a little TOO convenient to take to work with me. My wife made an Austin Powers movie reference though when she saw me disassemble it out of the box..."It's not mine...really!" haha.

I love french press coffee!!! I purchased this one after viewing your video. I'm impressed with every aspect of this press except one (and I've owned a lot of presses). Are you experiencing a less than optimal pour when moving the brewed coffee to another container? Mine is spilling all down the side and mucking up my sleeve. :(

I purchased one but unfortunately after a few uses I just discarded it. My issue was the rubber lid. Mine had an odor and even after multiple runs through the dishwasher I couldn't get rid of the smell. It was in the rubber and I complained to the company and they acknowledged it, said use dish washing soap and continue to clean it in a dishwasher and it would eventually go away. Never happened so it went in the trash. Shame, the concept is solid and the mug itself seemed well made and the lid wasn't bad design wise, just poor choice in production material.

I am guessing incorrect ground size is the reason for the unfavorable reviews I have seen. I still bought one :-)
