CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Angela (Lonette McKee) is just in time to help Brewster (Richard Pryor) secure his inheritance of $300 million dollars before the midnight deadline.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The seventh cinema adaptation of the venerable stage farce Brewster's Millions stars Richard Pryor as Montgomery Brewster, a third-rate baseball player. Much to his amazement, Brewster discovers that he is related to deceased millionaire Rupert Horn (Hume Cronyn, who appears only in a videotaped "living will"). Even more amazing is the fact that Horn has left Brewster his entire $300 million fortune. The catch? Brewster must spend $30 million within 30 days, or he'll be left with nothing (in the earlier incarnations of Brewster's Millions, the hero was required to spend only a million, but this was, after all, the inflationary '80s). Aiding and abetting Brewster in his efforts to divest himself of his money are his catcher pal (John Candy) and an erstwhile lady friend (Lonette McKee), while his principal antagonist is a snotty attorney (Stephen Collins).
CREDITS:
TM & © Universal (1985)
Cast: Stephen Collins, Jerome Dempsey, Pat Hingle, Richard Pryor, David White, Lonette McKee
Director: Walter Hill
Producers: Gene Levy, Mae Woods, Lawrence Gordon, Joel Silver

I wish Pat Hingle had a bigger role in this movie. He was such a good friend and guide to Monty even though he appeared in a handful of scenes. And he genuinely wanted Brewster to inherit the 300 million and encouraged him to keep going. And as Brewster said "You're a real nice man".

Mr. Roundfield made a very smart move giving Brewster the money. If he'd given it to the Lawyers, they would've have stole it all, but giving it to Monty, got Monty indebted to him, so if Roundfield is ever in a financial jam, he knows Brewster will gladly get him out....Very smart....Basic investment psychology. Always send the money where it can return to you 7 fold.

_In the original story,_ which is also good in its own right but additionally made immortal by these legends, _our protagonist is seemingly duped by The Executor of the Will after liquidating everything but in the resolve to pursue his new, true love... The Executor shows up at their very wedding and seals the deal of riches, happily ever after, etc._ So, you see, they really did a wonderful job keeping up the story with plays and finally this amazing movie, as cult-ly beloved as it may be.

hair part is consistent, it's the shot that's flopped left to right - look at the angle of his tie where it meets his neck. they probably noticed in editing that they didn't respect the "180 degree rule" (google it, too long to explain here), and had the woman approaching him from the wrong side of the screen, so they had to mirror the shot otherwise it would make the man look like he was talking to thin air

I hate how the movie villainized Warren. He wasn't someone who was up to no good. He was just some innocent person like his fiance was, who, for some unexplained reason, was approached by those two lawyers and somehow talked into making Brewster fail by them. Granted, Warren may have been a jerk, but he didn't deserve that kind of treatment. The villains should've just remained those two lawyers.
@kristashafer93098
@kristashafer93098 10 ай бұрын
The two shady lawyers were definitely the primary villains. Warren was their henchman. He almost made Monty fail by hiding the $20k because the lawyers told him if he did then Warren would be promoted to a partner (IIRC). So, not the primary antagonist but certainly not an innocent little angel either.
