After an hour, we were let back into the school and I had to finish the last class or two with only 3 other students in my class. That happened with in a year of Columbine, which added a layer of complications. Interesting times.

The first bomb threat we had, and I swear on a Bible this is true: It was the coldest day of the year in January and it was in Maine. They evacuated everyone from the school with no jackets (they said it was a normal fire drill and don’t worry about jackets), shoes (dance class), and some wearing gym clothes). For forty five minutes. 45. In below zero temperatures. After everyone who hasn’t fled (I would’ve, but I was in Special Ed at the time and they watched us like we were going to murder them if they turned for a second). All four years were crammed into the gym. A very small, claustrophobic, gym. For four hours we had to sit there, they guarded the doors and hallways and escorted you to the bathroom so you couldn’t call home (cell phones were still very new and the pay phones were next to the gym). And people at this point realized what was going on and started to panic, the principal came up and told us we were in a “safe zone “ that had been cleared On the first floor of a two story building. And not to panic. Until the bomb sniffing dog showed up and started inspecting the gym. I was put in a clear classroom and found out that people were wandering around ransacking backpacks. Someone lost their whole cashed paycheck that she just cashed that morning and threw a fit. I also at this point started begging the special ed idiots- I mean teachers- to let me call my mom to get me out of there. She would raise hell for what’s going on and knew that she was working at home. Nope, they told me to be strong and brave. After failing a test at the end of the day, four hours and forty five minutes after the scare started they made us go to our last class that had a test. I called my mom, had her pick me up and told her how my day went. The next day apparently half the school’s parents were in the principal’s office threatening to sue the school for what they did and ripping him a new one for endangering their kids. They canceled school after that if there was a scare. Oh yeah, I am guessing several winter jackets were also stolen because the most popular brand at the time that was expensive had a no receipt no questions asked return policy. Which is how I lost my jacket a few years before the scare. In the same school.

Fast forward 20 minutes later the announcements come on and the principle is talking about some "you guys did so well during this code red practice. All classroom doors were locked and all students were accounted for" when I tell you I was upset! I was upset!! I never looked at Mrs.johnson the same way again

I had a bomb threat happen at my school in the 5th grade. What happened was someone wrote in the bathroom stall to make a bomb threat. It was way more crazy than this let me tell you. The news got a hold of it and just said that it was a threat. But the worst part was that there was staff that were blaming every student at the school. A janitor did blame a student while the janitor was trying to get rid of the threat from the stall. I never really understood why they would remove that I mean it seems that it could be evidence but no. In the end the kid that did the threat admitted to it.

I had almost the same thing happen to me! There was a shooting that happened at a school (that was probably an hour away) our elementary wouldn’t tell us what happened, but every three seconds the PA system would come on and call some kid to get picked up. Those were fun back in our school, early 80's, they would march everyone one outside, like a fire alarm drill. And you hung outside and went and found your friends and yak. It would take the fire dept and police about a half hour to an hour to search the buildings and about another half-hour+ for the then mix mob of kids outside in the areas around the the buildings to work their way back to whatever period/class it now was, or lunch or whatever, or they might cancel all the remaining classes if it was the afternoon . they could literally burn up half a school day. We had 1 or 2 a year.

Two weeks ago, my school had a bomb threat. I was just almost finished with my last class when the fire alarm went off around the school, everyone had to move out of their classes and into the field where we sat down and waited till the teachers even told us what was happening. We had to wait there for three hours after 3:00 and no one was allowed to go to the toilet because the teachers told us that we could have gotten ourselves killed with the hidden bomb around the school. In middle and high school, I experienced multiple bomb threats at my school. We didn't get to go home. In middle school they just made us stand outside. Didn't even tell us what was going on, we always just thought it was a fire drill until twenty minutes had passed and we were still outside, before someone would find out from a teacher, and we'd be out there for at least another hour. In high school they moved us to the auditorium, because apparently that wouldn't blow up.

Had one of these in high school. It was after school hours, saying it would be tomorrow, apparently. (Seems legit.) The next day, they had teachers check everyone's bags on their way in. I'm a hermit, so having teachers sifting through my stuff made me anxious. Nothing bad, just a really disorganized backpack filled with old homework and a sports bag with my gym shirt. I got the teacher I'd previously had for Woodshop, seemed really tough but was still very nice. He just took a glance and let me shyly shuffle away. Could probably tell I was ready to go home before I even left my house that day. Thank you, Woodshop teacher :)

The kid that did it, used the pay phone in the lobby and fell for the cops bluff when they told him they were going to check all the quarters in the phone to see if his fingerprints were on any of them. All through school until he graduated, his nickname was "Bomber"!

I remember there being a shooting/bomb threat towards my school was I was in 8th grade (2015). The person who made that threat towards my school said that it was going to be worse than Columbine in 1999. Luckily, there it didn’t actually happen, but he did get arrested for making the threat towards my school. It was early in the morning when we found out about the threat, more than half of the people stayed home from school and they had quite a bit of homework to do. My mom sent me and my siblings to school the day the threat was made and they searched our bags and only half of the students were present, including my sisters and I. Also, after Thanksgiving 2021, there was a mass shooting at a high school about 15 miles from my house in Oxford, Michigan that left 4 dead and 7 injured. It still haunts me to this day since I knew people that went to that high school that would become the site of a mass shooting in 2021 by a 15-year-old student at that school.
