By his own example he instilled hope in millions of young athletes all over the world to achieve their own greatness. By giving up his title and refusing to join the military, he raised the consciousness of the world. He was a master in the ring, and was a great entertainer as well. As one of the most beloved and popular men of the 20th century, he brought important issues into light with his profound wit and common sense. I was born in 1951, and witnessed his greatness from the day he won gold at Olympics to the day he lit the flame. His inspiration was felt by many, and his greatness lives on in them. To me, this is an understatement, and not an exageration.

Contrast that with Dylann Roof, who killed 9 people. Arrested, armed, but not resisting, a danger to anyone within range of the gun he had. @factspov63012 жыл бұрын
@@leanmeanmenace1744 My initial point was being a black muslim in a racist country like america is unimaginable. Your "corrections" show you know nothing about american history. Mohammed Ali biography mentioned how he was forced to sit in the "black sections" of buses and nonstop racial abuse. America was and will stay the stolen land of the natives. You should research on how 80 million innocent helpless natives were killed by columbus to make america. And that was just the start to record number of lives killed in wars and only country cruel enough to use nuclear powers on innocent living beings TWICE.
@hyperion3145Ай бұрын
@@factspov6301 I hope you have read up on US history since this comment because slavery had been outlawed in the US 100 years before Ali even became a lightweight champion. This WAS the time of segregation and the Civil Rights era but slavery was over along with sharecropping. Black Lives Matter also isn't a native movement, it's a Black movement. A relatively new one at that, founded in 2013. Native Americans have had their own movements like the NARF and AIM.
